Memorable Definitely ! :) It's my favourite book Ever I've read it like 4 times already and I'm sure I'll read it again once I get the chance to ..something about the dialogue that keeps drawing me in and I love the characters Especially Heathcliff and Hareton ..I wish Emily wrote another book I read somewhere that she wrote another book but her sister Charlotte destroyed it which is annoying !Everyone seems to think that Wuthering Heights is a book about people who should be in an psychiatric hospital but Personally I LOVE and will never forget it <3

I totally agree! Charlotte was "allegedly" jealous of Emily's success with Wuthering Heights.. I mean, hands down, Wuthering Heights has better dialogue and diction than Jane Eyre - there's something utterly beautiful about Wuthering Heights, a darkness that draws you in...
Haha it sounds weird, but no one can understand the significance of this book to me!
I've read it over again and again too :p My best character is the second Catherine and maybe the first... Hareton was a tragic case- he used to be so good, till Heathcliff got to him, and I downright hated Nelly Dean in this book! She betrayed Heathcliff before, and I couldnt understand her stance... she betrayed Catherine as well - I think she's the cause of Catherine's madness...
Wow, that's a lot of words...

"Haha it sounds weird, but no one can understand the significance of this book to me! "I UNDERSTAND :P I really do and my cousin can't get how much this book means to me She rated it 3/5 !! It deserves a 5 all the way ! I always relate to the book whatever my mood Sometimes it feel like this book is written about Life in general but it's about my personally I can't explain it but I know it's kind of creepy but I feel "connected" with this book LOL
" My best character is the second Catherine and maybe the first" I like the two Cathys as well and maybe Cathrine wasn't as bad as Nelly wanted us to believe ..Maybe she was just jealous" Hareton was a tragic case-"
he used to be so good, till Heathcliff got to him"
That's why I sympathize with him and anyway he was better when he Cathy showed him that she likes ..poor thing he just wanted a friend :'(
"and I downright hated Nelly Dean in this book!"
I try not to hate he since she's the "Narrator" or there wouldn't be "Wuthering Heights" at all but you're right she gets on my nerves sometimes !But she never married or had children of her own and she witnessed two generations so I kinda have a soft spot for her

" Hareton ..."
The thing with Nelly is, she switches sides too readily – remember that time in the book when Catherine wanted to lie to Edgar about how she was too sick to handle the situation he and Heathcliff were putting her in? I think Nelly shouldn’t have ratted Catherine out, no matter what her reason was. She’d known Catherine for so long, ever since she was a child actually, and she didn’t think of the damage she could have caused… Catherine’s condition was a result of Nelly’s selfishness…
Thank you so much for joining the group by the way! If you have any ideas for group discussions, pictures, book recommendations or stuff like that, it’s welcome! Feel free to add books to the library as well :)

I agree with both of you guys- Wuthering Heights definitely deserves five stars, and it totally memorable.I'm a literature student, so I have to read a lot of books, and nothing has ever come close to pushing W/H off the top spot for me. I'm writing my dissertation on it and I can't wait!
What annoys me is how Hollywood always makes it such a 2 dimensional romantic story and it soooo isn't! There is so much more to it. Catherine and Heathcliff are truly horrible characters- but that is why I love them! Nelly is an OK character- a little annoying. Hareton is a lovely character, I feel so sorry for him!
Hareton suffered a fate that wasn't really his to bear, which is why I do symathize with him. He didn't ask to be born into this world, into the gloom of Wuthering Heights, where the main characters had grown to love and hate each other and the plot was already up and running - his birth was nothing spectacular, it symbolised the birth of a new Hindley (I actually liked this Hindley better than the last) and the death of the little sanity left at the Hrights - it was left to decay just as the old Hindley was.
I was really indifferent towards Nelly the first few times I read the book; the more I read it, the more I realised that she was actually the villain in wuthering Heights, like the underdog.. she did all the little things that tipped the scale, and the worst part is that she always knew what she was doing, so she had no excuses for her actions. She was the death or Catherine.
"Oh, Nelly has played traitor!" <- this is one of the most unique lines in the book - Emily Bronte's descriptions make Catherine's voice come to life in this sentence.. (that or I love it because it's true) :p
You're writing about it? That's awesome - you won't run out of material to use :) Welcome to the group young grasshopper!

Thanks very much! It's good to chat about it, none of my friends have read it! I keep telling them to, but they won't!Yeah, I am writing it on the whether the characters are victims or perpetrators within the book. Who is the biggest victim? Who is the biggest bully? I am using Wuthering Heights along with Jane Eyre and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. That quote you have just put "Oh, Nelly has played traitor" is actually quite perfect for it!
