Everyman | 7718 comments This is YOUR chance to star5t a discussion on a work you think would be a great Western Canon Interim Read.

Click on the title Interim Readings Winter 2010, find the "New Topic" link in the light grey bar, click on it, put the name of your suggested work in the Topic bar, in the Comments box tell us why you propose this for discussion, and include the link to where group members can find the work on the Internet!

Happy posting!

Everyman | 7718 comments By the way, in case I hadn't made this clear, we can have any number of Winter Interim Reads.

Silver has started us off wonderfully with Blake, always a fascinating poet. But anybody else can also come along with any other works they think are worthy of our discussing. We have three weeks instead of the usual two, so have at it.

And thanks, Silver, for starting us off.

Silver You are most welcome, I am quite looking forward to it, and it will be interesting to see what other people choose.

Everyman | 7718 comments This topic has been renamed in recognition that it is summer, not winter, for our Aussie and New Zealand members (and anybody who happens to be chiming in from the South Pole, South Georgia, Southern Africa, etc.)

Sorry for the provincialism of the original title!

Well thankyou, Everyman, for recognising this half of the world. We kind of get used to the opposite way of doing things in other parts of the world. I'm glad this group writes dates like this: Dec 17th, though, as in another group they were written as numbers, and since some countries use day/month/year, it can be very confusing to have to 'translate' them.
For us Dec 9th was 9/12/10, so at least the system used here is understood by all.

Linda2 She's doing it again. 9/12 is Sept 9.

This topic is very popular. Presumably interim reads are short pieces? And, judging by Roger's last entry, must be impossible to pronounce unless you're Czech?
