Goodreads of course - love, love, love this site! you can connect with others who love reading as much as you.Facebook - an awesome site to reconnect with loved ones and childhood friends you haven't seen in years.
deviantart.com - I am an artist who is working on a career as an Illustrater, and it is a great place for those who want to show off their artwork.
wattpad.com - my niece loves writting stories and she recently joined this site to post her stories here. there are actually pretty good stories on this site.
my sisters blog - so I can catch up on what she and her family are doing since we live in different states and rarely get to see each other.

TV tropes a great time waster, I mean research. Every cliche is listed for your enjoyment.
Crimson Instability at deviantart.com A special place in my heart. She did my first ever fan art.
Have Just Found a new site to explore:
http://bookseer.com/
if you type in the name and author and press the arrow button it should come up with a list of reccomendations from Amazon and Librarything.

Goodreads is an amazing site (: but I also use Facebook, twitter, email, bookrix.com and I like making poems on Microsoft word. If you are bored, and have some free time, it's fun to edit pictures on sites. I can post the site names when I figure them out..
Storywrite.com and allpoetry.com are two of my favorite. I love getting on their, being able to freely write, get opinions, enter contests, and the big thing I love is reading all the talented writes on there.

Google!!!"
Yes Google is a BIG one fore me. I probably frequent google 20 times a day! Especially when those random questions pop in your head, today I googled where pm and am came from, learned some interesting facts
Nerdist.com -- If you're interested in TV and writing, they have a fantastic podcast!Eric Quinn Knowles
Besides Goodreads I absolutely love Deviantart.com! Even though lately it has a real bad habit of giving me computer virus's...Sigh. I also am going to Pokefarm.org to find other roleplayers. It used to be cool once...the site. Just like Gaiaonline. So, so wonderful and I visited it all the time until...I think the whole "cash shop" thing came around...
This has nothing to do with reading or writing, but one of the best/ funniest blogs out there is Cakewrecks.com a blog dedicated to horribly- made cakes from professional bake shops.

That's OK you don't need to put websites related to reading or writing....have you got any more?

I mentioned a site earlier but didn't put up a link.

I'm very addicted to the free samples from that site!
it also has Australia and UK sites (obviously I use the Aussie version)

Awesome!
I recently came across The Long Riders Guild Academic Foundation, The world’s first global hippological study. They have some wonderful information on horses including a writer's guide & a section devoted to amazing rides & rescues. It's a great resource for any authors out there.

I like that "which book" , I just tried it and added it to my favorites. Thanks.
that's great to hear dee.
I find them most helpful when I'm at the end of a series.
or at the end of a book and I want something similar.

Just found this thread and already went down the rabbit hole on BookSeer and Literature-Map. Thanks, Adele! (No, really - that wasn't sarcasm!)

I have a love/hate relationship with facebook. I love that it lets me stay in contact with friends and family that I otherwise wouldn't be able to talk to. But I hate the constant stream of drama so I find myself paying more attention to the pictures posted than I do to the statuses. lol I used to visit Anne Rice's website alot but now that I see everything she has to say on facebook, I've sort of abandoned that. I check my e-mail frequently throughout the day so I suppose yahoo would count. I love youtube and spotify. I am convinced that the two combined have everything I need in terms of music. I am on one or the other all day. And last but not least is the website for my college because I go online.

I feel the same way about facebook. There's so much drama on there at times :(
I'm going through a love hate thing with Facebook myself at the moment. .. especially with all the app changes.
im loving buzzfeed.com right now. they have lists of stuff and quizzes. and yes they do have an app as well.
im also now an imgurian for a year! I love imgur.com for its pictures and community. I like reddit too but im more drawn to imgur.

ah yes you tube, i have several playlists on there that have come in handy for when spotify.com seems to stuff up.
i have a chromecast now, which makes things a whole lot easier. unfortunately it isn't compatible with spotify.com yet. i can however use you tube quite well on it.
my latest favourite website is Stan.com.au it's very similar to netflix... now that netflix has been released in australia. i am now making the decision of which one i should have. netflix is cheaper but as yet it's range is not as extensive as it is in america yet. and Stan seems to have a better catalouge so far.
yet netflix has disney movies...see it's a tough choice!
so i'm all about streaming at the moment.
i started this topic in 2010 and you can see how much my tastes have changed. what about other people? what site did you love and have now passed up or don't use as often as you once did?

OK one of my favorite ebook sites after Goodreads is
FictFact.com which someone already mentioned. I used to keep track of my series in a spreadsheet, which I still up date by way of FictFact, occasionally. FictFact.com is one of the easiest ways to keep track of my series and where I am. Also to remember series I put down and want to come back to, or not.
In addition, I probably go to BookBub.com a couple times a week to see what freebee and low price books they can find for me. I've got some great finds and deals there.
https://www.bookbub.com/ebook-deals/r...
So in addition
If you are into Scifi
https://www.baenebooks.com/c-1-free-l...
for free books usually the first in the series. 1632 by Eric Flint is really good.
I don't do Facebook anymore. I still have an account but I felt I was just wasting time. I now will signon occasionally, around once a month and look at friend's post.
Amazon is my one of my most frequented as I'm a member of Prime.

Does Amazon have a prime in Australia and does it have a Netflix type movie streaming there? I had prime for the 2 day shipping at first, but now I use the streaming much more.
i will have to investigate. im usually on us amazon (it keeps bugging me to change over but they only do books and e books not products ) . so i will definately have to look into it.
I like using Runnersroute.co.uk. It's a basic map website with Google Street View. When I'm bored I'll click on Interlaken in Switzerland and 'take a drive' through the Alps using Street View.Street View is usueful too for researching locations when I'm writing. I've spent hours 'driving' round Nice or Prague. . . Doesn't work in Germany though!
This topic is one of the good one. I will be closing it and revamping it , this time ill be including Apps aa well as sites and apps what used to be your favourite but not now.
So stay tuned for the new topic. The link will be in the newsletter which is due out next week!
