For anyone who hasn't read World without End, pick it up! Follett is so descriptive in his writing that you feel you are in the scenes yourself. Loved it! I gave it 5 stars and I am pretty cheap with my stars :)

I visit NPR books at least once a day just to check for author interviews and whatnot and today I noticed this and it made me smile.

She's right I think you can get a little nervous about your suggestions to a club but I'm glad that this group is cool enough not to make people feel bad about their suggestions. :)

Genevieve, I always say to people I really liked this book, but maybe you won't like it as much. Then if someone asks me about a book I disliked I might say this is why I didn't like it, but you may like it. It's kind of like clothes, we don't all have to like the same thing or feel like we need to like or dislike certasin styles. Reading can be a very individual taste preference.

Don, that is very well said! I also think that sometimes you can not like a good book because it is just the wrong time. I know lots of people who have a 50 page rule and then will return or give away a book that didn't grab them. For me, I like to just put it down and come back to it when I'm in a different mood.

I totally agree with you guys! I finds it strange that I will devour some things in days and others I just need to come back to it a bit later. Tana French's first two novels were like that for me. I read 'In The Woods' in a week but 'The Likeness' was something I had to come back to... a couple times!

It so true Don about your favorite books being really personal. I always get slightly embarrassed when I get a thumbs down from someone that I really care about their opinion/really thought they would dig a suggestion. C'est la vie!

I had that happen to me a few times last year! I would start a book, but it wouldn't catch my attention so I'd put it down and start a different one. I always ended up going back and reading the other book when I was in a different frame of mind. I always give books a second chance before giving up on them.

This book completely sucked me in, and felt so real and emotional. I loved the way the author shows the main character's struggle, and the dynamic of the family as they all deal with the situation. This is usually not my type of book, but I really enjoyed it. So glad that I finally read this.

I really loved this one Charleen! I'm looking forward to her knew book which has a similar theme :)

Still Alice has now been on one too many peoples must read list. Another to add to the TBR!

I really loved it Christy and the topic is one that many of us have experiences with a relative or friend. The very talanted author lives a short drive from me, I'm hoping to get to one of her local events.
