Looking back briefly over the titles I've read in 2010 I have to say that two of the best I've read are The Book Thief and Cutting for Stone.
Both of them were amazing! They took me to places I hadn't been before. It's been months since I've read either of them and I can't stop thinking about them.

Ooh great post!!!
I really had to think, but I've narrowed it down to three that all impacted on me in different ways.
First The Children's Book, I love A.S Byatt and how meticulous she is in evoking the period she is writing about.
Secondly Mrs. Dalloway, this was the first thing I'd read by Woolf and it was a real revelation, I loved the heady prose and the stream of conciousness style.
Also loved The Name of the Wind, I love well written fantasy books, and this is certainly one of the best ones I've ever read. Can't wait for sequel.

Good picks Naomi!! I got The Children's Book for Christmas last year and am ashamed to say I haven't read it yet. Yet another one I want to read next!
