StoryWeaver | 75 comments The prophecy foretold of the Great Awakening.

The Antevorta Trojan (probably named after the Goddess of the future) was thought to be someone's prank till Interpol declared they'd hit a blind end!

It had come from nowhere and every time you'd hit shut down on any PC this message would flash:

'The Great Awakening'
20th Dec 2012 at 20:12 PM
The Meek Shall Rise!!

(S) I looked at Antevorta. How could she always be so happy? How could she always be in this good of a mood? I sighed.

"What is it, Sakari?" she asked, looking at me. I fake glare at her.
"Its freezing outside, your wearing a skirt and no hat, how can you still be gleeful!?" She laughs at me, of course she would.
"Kari, Kari, Kari." she teeses.

((does this post work with the story?))

StoryWeaver | 75 comments Antevorta was 6 and you could already see she was going to break hearts with her 'fragile' beauty.
Nothing could put her in a foul mood, not even foul weather!

"Da-ad!", she called out, "Aren't you coming along to see my most recent modifications?"

She knows I don't really like her using my name or cut down variations and is now being all goody goody to make sure I go along....might as well humor her.

"Ante dear!", I called out, " I sometimes wonder if it was a mistake creating a GameWorld for you!"
" You've gotten me curious now! Let's go see what you've been doing to your subjects!"

Antevorta took hold of his little finger tugging him along till they reached the enclosure.

"Da-ad!", she exclaimed, as always in her 'sing-song' manner, "I liked what you said last time about how the inhabitants of my blue planet love scurrying about like ants!"

"I've decided on experimenting with a slightly different power allocation. The most hardworking and teeny weeny creatures I have down there are in fact ants"

" I've set up a time slot that occurs in precisely half an hour , or 3 days of blue planet time, wherein the ants are granted access to all the technology I've been allowing the 'Hoomuns' to use"

"But!... Ante dear! Must you disrupt your GameWorld so drastically?

"Don't worry, Dad! I've put in place an early warning system that has been informing them of the 'awakening' "

(S) I sigh and follow them inside. My mom is cooking. So normal. Everything in my life is "normal" when nothing is normal. I climb the stairs to my room. I turn my laptop on, it hums in my hands.

I type in the password, my full name. Sakurianta The screen goes to loading.

StoryWeaver | 75 comments I design complex role playing video games. The best effort of mine till date was my yet to be released 'Game Worlds' that I was currently beta testing .

As with any child, Antevorta too would like pretending she was a game designer too. So I'd made her an architect's model of all that was in the game and had given her a spacious enclosure for the huge setup.

It was like a complex game board which had a row of planets arranged in a curve along the board table's diagonal. The planets were mounted on axles allowing them to be spun.

I'd given her all my magmarkers (tiny colorful magnetic markers) for her to use as characters.

My mother was wondering why I was being a bit grouchy of late and I kept insisting it was the game launch deadline. Actually that wasn't the REAL reason!

While Antevorta's make believe playing with her huge setup of the game gave me valuable feedback at times to help create game scenarios, a recent development was psyching me out real bad!

Most of Antevorta's make believe modifications were starting to show up in my game without my having done any programming!!
"HOW WAS THAT POSSIBLE!" ,screamed my mind....but the designer in me was fascinated, thrilled and.....Yes!...terrified too!!!

StoryWeaver | 75 comments As the night on Planet Vegan grew darker and thicker it was bedtime for little Antevorta although the night had just begun for 'Da-ad'....

Many light years away there is a galaxy which has a blue planet very similar to Antervorda's blue planet. This planet is called Earth by its inhabitants....

Planet Earth : 17:12:2010 (17th Dec) 10 AM : The Offices of Moon Nanosystems :

Jennifer rushed through the tiny opening left just as the doors slid shut and almost bumped into Andrew who was ahead of her. Andrew and James shared opposite cubicles diagonally opposite her's and Susan's.
"Hi Andrew!" , said Jennifer as she rushed to her cubicle.
"Hi there Jenny! Any luck deleting that pop-up yet?" ,asked Andrew.

Jennifer gave him a negative nod before sitting down, and she sat down a bit faster than what was required as she didn't want him to read her expression.
The night before she was reading about two conflicting concepts 'The Noetic Science' theory that supports the fact that anything thinkable is perceivable or possible somewhere and the Hindu Maaya Concept that all that you see around you is like a setting out of that movie Inception, ALL FALSE!
Her line of work was into troubleshooting of software glitches based on the 'Cause-Effect' theorem. That would mean that for something to happen there HAD to be a cause. But this reasoning hit a wall when pitted against the Antevorda Trojan. It was there all over the world even in secure systems not connected to networks having appeared on systems within the month of May.
The Interpol said there was no 'source' which meant there was no trace of where it had originated and why.
What was keeping her on edge today was the Maayaa concept. that things were either preordained or that things were out of 'our' control. Her interpretation based on years of Cause Effect training would be just that it meant if things weren't in 'our' control something or someone else was doing the controlling and she meant to find out!

These r the words of our president..so,invite all the computing genius, hackers, system analysts, whoever can pull us out of this shi*....

I hope god is crazy on us..!! yelling off at the staff of the pentagon, the commander in chief retires from there.

StoryWeaver | 75 comments PLANET VEGAN : the darkest hours of night:

32 virtual speaker surround sound emanates from Sakurianta's laptop as GameWorlds starts. He clicks on edit mode and quickly scans the characters list.

UN-buh-LIE-va-ble!!! TWO MORE!!! How are these characters getting auto-generated?, thinks Kari. (his wife started using this pet name and now Ante had somehow started too)

He double taps his finger over the holoscreen . The 3D revolving image of the 'Blue Planet' shatters and each fragment morphs into a character type, assigned maximum numbers and recently created IDs

a) Hoomans - 1234 * Jenny
b) Dawgs - 200
c) Katz - 200
d) Ratz - 200
e) Ants - 1234 * alphaQ

He hadn't assigned any character names and yet there they were right on screen ! A new name in two character categories ! That meant two PLAYERS! And he wasn't even playing!....

.. asked Antevorta's voice from far away ....

Kari jerked up awake! He had fallen asleep at his desk! Good thing it was a Sunday anyway!

((Da-ad! Come down a moment, please!)) called out Antevorta again..

"Hmm, I'd better go help her out" , thinks Kari , "she's real and deserves the attention instead of my make - believe game' ...

Sagar's Lab and the Ant farm 19th Dec

Sagar was going to be late to work again! He was writing a research paper based on observing the technical capabilities of Techno Ants.
He remembered coining the name 'Techno Ants' when he first published an article about the ants he'd found in the central storage zone of the Academy of Advanced Architecture.
They were normal ants that were learning to survive using materials available to them. So instead of perishing due to the lack of twigs or dry leaves and stuff they were scurrying around with bits of insulation tape, small bits of wire, polystyrene packing foam bits and other 'techno junk'.
What was amazing to watch was their adaptability and creativity. So Sagar had made himself an ant farm of techno ants and would provide strange bits of junk at regular intervals to observe their skills at . Being a bit of a nerd and a loner this became his obsession and at times he felt he was like some sort of 'Ant God' .. "Lord Sagar - The Provider", he'd think to himself and chuckle....

.....
The Ant Farm .
"We ants, are very sincere, hardworking and uncomplaining",thought the Ant Queen Vorta (only her favourite son Ant alphaQ could call her Ant Vorta),"But when u get to sit still like me, you wonder what is really going on all around!"

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

The ants respect Ant alphaQ as he is the best architect ant.
He makes best use of the materials, systematically using them like modules.
wire with wire, building block with building block.
It was the alphaQ who had found out the magical property of the wires to conduct vibrations.
Their home was constructed with a systematic inclusion of wire to every corner of the ant colony to help with communication and sensing.

SAGAR
"I am amazed now!! that would be a shock to the world straight away.."
hmm..."Ants creating history this time under the supervision of their god dr.sagar"(saying these words proudly he moves nearer to the colony to have a close look)

StoryWeaver | 75 comments Sagar has this sudden thought," Either these tiny fellows like shiny metal like we humans and have run those pieces of wire around as decoration....OR!!! ...they realize wire conducts vibrations and they're using it to network !!"

"Wow!" , he thought, " If I drop in a couple of nano transceivers linked to wire bits and set up a workstation to monitor signals I just might get to know"

He absent mindedly picks up his pet cat Grammar and strokes her. He always found a cats purr very soothing and helped him think...

Sagar picks up 12 nano transceivers with their tiny link wires and dropped them down the hatch of the ant farm and waited, continuing to stroke Grammar.

Deep down in the ant farm AlphaQ picked up the vibrations(little realizing it was Grammar's purring) that normally meant their Creator was sending them materials. Ants all through the colony placed their feelers along the wire and realized it was time to go to the pick up zone...

message 15: by Kat (new)

Kat (sugaraddict) | 688 comments Tiny black dot surrounded one of the twelve nano transceivers, communicating quickly. What they were to do with it was still being decided, but the nervous buzz pressured the cheif.

Suddenly Grammar had another idea though, leaping from his arms and shreeking. Running under a piece of furniture feverishly. She cried and hissed, something was clearly bothering her. Suddenly it was pin-drop silent. Hissing could be heard, but it wasn't from Grammar. It sounded like steam from a pipe, and suddenly everything clouded.

It's coming, it's coming, it's coming, it's coming. It hissed. The voice was loftly, and distant, almost muffeled.

To say Sagar was taken aback would be the understatement of the year! But nerd being nerds he went straight into analytical mode.

"What's up Gram?", he asked her soothingly, while his mind raced. Cats were extremely sensitive to moods and like Canaries in mines , cats were considered the best early warning method by those into occult practices.
"But what were the string of events", thought Sagar while mentally doing a 'Cause-Effect' analysis.
a) ants touch transceiver
b)transceivers live , connected for audio, video and a whole spectrum of frequencies
c)Gram getting psyched out of her mind
d)the voice &
e)the hissing gas.
By now he had Grammer in his hands again and was stroking her beneath her chin, her mood switch zone. He had reached the spot where the steamy gas had erupted and realized something had triggerred off the fire hazard system.
"So that's what the steamy special effects were all about" he thought as he reached the workstation and hit a couple of command keys.

"It's coming, it's coming, it's coming, it's coming" repeated a recording of the same voice.

The voice analysis graph had spikes going all wrong. The voice wasn't human although the words were.

"Was it the Ants!!!?', thought Sagar as a chill ran down his spine.

Meanwhile Not So Far Away.....

19th Dec 10:45 pm

Jennifer sat in front of her computer and clicked on the shut down buttonb. She's had a sudden brainwave. most pop-ups did something to the system or responded to a click of a mouse or clicking enter or escape.

"If this was a game what would I do" thought Jennifer
"I'd click either Y for yes, N for no or R for replay!"

No one had tried these buttons so far!

she clicked on R and was amazed to hear rich music playing through the computer speakers as 'GameWorlds' flashed on screen!
