Heather slowly walked through the park. She sat on one of the swings and rocked back and forth a bit. Glancing at her watch, she realized it was at least three hours after her 11:30 pm curfew. She knew they wouldnt really care though.

There was a slender figure down the path a ways coming toward her but the person didn't appear threatening. Claudimonte didn't want to go home, she felt safer sleeping on a bench in the park than in the house with her step dad.

Kasey also happened to be at the park, but for other reasons entirely. She was more of a night owl and loved the chill and darkness of the night. If steam could have been blowing from her ears, it would have been. She hated her stepfather. he was so immature. She trudged onward, eyes sparking fire.

Claudimonte sat down on a bench, shivering as it started to snow but still not wanting to go 'home'.

Kasey noticed the shivering girl and approached her. "Hey." She smiled.

"Hello," she said warily, looking the girl over cautiously.

She sat beside her. "Is something wrong?" She asked softly.

"No, I'm fine." she said hotly, inching away a bit.

"I doubt that, but OK." She smiled.

"Why do you care anyway?"

She shrugged. "Not sure, exactly. You looked kinda upset, I guess."

"You shouldn't just walk up to people in parks when it's almost midnight and ask them how they are. Not very smart."

She shrugged again. "Yeah...I'm not very smart." She laughed, sounding a bit distant.

"Are you from around here?" she asked after a while, her accent increasing as she relaxed a little.

She nodded. "Yeah, been here as long as I can remember. What about you?"

"Moved here when I was ten with my mom."

"Cool, where from?"

"Germany." she sounded wistful and dreamy when she said the name.

"Awesome." She grinned. "I've always wanted to go. What's it like?"

"Wonderful. It seemed so rich and lively when I was a child."

"I'll bet. Why'd you move here?"

"My father died. Then mom moved here with her American boy friend." she snarled the last part in hatred.

She smiled sympathetically. "You don't like him?" She asked.

"He's a disgusting how do you say it...pervert?"

"Ooooh." She replied, understanding.

She sighed heavily, "What are you doing here at this time?"

"Blowing off steam."

"Oh?"

"Parent issues." She shrugged. "Not a huge deal. I just didn't feel like staying there for any longer than necessary."

She nodded in understanding.

A shadowed figure emerged, wandering through the park. He mentally picked out a few victims for capture when the time was right.

"I guess I should be getting back." Claudimonte said, standing to leave, "Bye."

Kasey nodded. "Later." She also stood up, heading in the opposite direction. The shadowed figure walked casually over by Claudimonte.

She glanced at the figure, guard up.

The shadows easily veiled his actions as he silently covered her mouth and nose with chloroform. Luckily for him, no one else was at the park except for Kasey, and she was far off on the other side of the area.

She struggled fiercly, trying to get away before her breath ran out.

He held onto her tightly, her struggling seemingly uneffective.

She tried to use the fighting techniques she knew but her body felt sluggish and separated from her mind.

He lifted her up, the chloroform still pressed firmly over her mouth and nose. He carried her to his car.

She slowly closed her eyes and passed out.

He tossed her lightly into his car before driving away.

His phone rang as he drove.

He answered it. "Hello?"

"Did you catch something?" a cold, hard voice asked.

"I did. Pretty little thing. I think you'll like her."
