Any cross-breeding you were planning on doing? Which breeds mix well with others to give the foals the best skills?

So far I've done two crosses. I bred my Irish Hunter mare Autumn Copper with Jenn's Thoroughbred stallion and I haven't gotten the foal yet.I also just bred a Standardbred mare with a Hanoverian stallion and I think the resulting foal will be very good.
Irish Hunters are really good at dressage. I mean, really good. In fact, I breed Irish Hunters, so if you wanted to work out something with me, I have both stallions and mares, so... :P
I just looked, and saw that they are pretty fabulous at it genetically. But I'm not breeding my Hanoverian until she's past working age (and she's only five now) so it'll be a while. If you get a stallion BLUPed I will come running. :P
:p My male is almost fully BLUPed, he has positive 78.30 and 21 stars, but he was my first, so there's nothing else he can get. Now, if I manage to breed a really good stallion I'll talk to you again, unless you want the guy I have right now.
I see that, he's pretty epic. :D If his skills don't decline by the time Sage is past working and ready to breed, then maybe we can work something out.
Haha. They won't decline, because he's got immortality, so he keeps his skills and his reproductability (lol, I don't think that's a word) until I kill him. :P I'm not sure if I can kill him...I have a Standardbred/Irish Hunter stallion, though... and both of those can give you great stuff. The Standardbred will give the foal amazing trotting skills and the Irish Hunter side will give the dressage.
Awesome! Can you keep training a horse forever if they're immortal? O.o 'Cause Sage is immortal as well.I definitely want me some Irish Hunter. *Mooches off of dressage skills*
Well, you can keep training them forever, but they only have a certain amount they can get before it just stops. My stallion has 21* and can't be trained anymore, but that's because his gp was 350 because he was my first horse. A mare I've bred on the other hand, has over 700 gp and so I'll be able to train her for longer and continuously have her get stuff out of it.
Can they enter competitions indefinitely? Oh, and, how many passes does it cost to buy immortality? *Too lazy to look for myself*
Nope, but I have one pass. *Wants to use* I also want to buy that age-o-thing, but it's two passes. :<
I really want to buy passes. *guilty grin* I was gonna make you buy a horsie from me and pay passes if you were buying them. :P
You mean BLUP? It's a genetic indicator for how much potential the foal will have. Negative BLUP will just be a normal foal, whereas very positive/high BLUP will give them stars and skills as soon as they are born.
*Sighs* Then I'll going to sell her.*Prods NummyWarrior* I have another account *COUGH COUGH* where I'm breeding Standardbreds...
I sent a friend request to your "friend" NummyWarrior...The account is called Chewp (Yes, funny name), and I'm going to buy the stallion from Chewp and then breed it with one of Nummy's mares. Buuuutttt... I want the foal.
Yayyy!!! So I'll cover your mare for 200e then I'll buy it from you for 200e... or something like that. But I hafta wait until I get riding level 2... which is tomarrow :D Wait. I hope you went on everyday when I was on vacation so it counts as 10 days...
Meerrpph. Then da stallion can cover you for 500e and then I buy it for 500e so we lose no moneyGood. Then tomarrow I can get riding level 2 :P
And actually, in order for me to not Lose money; you have to buy the foal for 1000e becaus it's 500 for the covering and then I hafta pay 500 for the vet.
Sure. 800e. :P But you have to be right there in the acution fornthe last 10 minutes or so, becaus other people can bid on it. I may be required to go on fo you if you don't seem to be around. How many days had Chewp been on? Cuz you both have to have been ten days for you to buy a horse from him.
You can't accss privat sales until you have three karma points.8 more days to wait then. :P Why don't you just go on Chep and cover my mare, and then I can sell you the foal and Chewp can hand over the stallion once he can access the sales? :P
MAHAHAHAH! I was having auction issues earlier, but tonight I won the perfect foal and then accidentally won another - both over 800 gp and 500e. :DBLUP is just a way of tracking your horse's skills.
Yes. BLUP is a genetic indicator that shows how good the horse will be, both for breeding and competitions. Fully BLUPed horses are highly valued.Good for you, Sy. :P
Soooo, you know how when you first register onto Howrse, they ask you for a sponser? 1)Make a new account on Howrse
2)Put the sponser as yourself
3)Do the quests for 5 minutes
4)Delete the account
5)Repeat steps 1-5
:DD
If you go to 'Directories' and then 'Horses' and type in 'Archimedes' there is a question of the day. If you answer correctly you get an aging point.
