1951 Winner: The Town by Conrad Richter

1941 Winner: No Prize Given for Fiction

1931 Winner: Years of Grace by Margaret Ayer Barnes

1921 Winner: The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton

I find that I've read four from the list, but I may try rereading at least a couple of those that were read long ago. The 2001 and 1991 winners were read pretty recently and are fairly fresh in my memory. I can't see reading them again. Too many other books that I haven't read!

I know what you mean - I've read a few from the total list, but none of the reads for this year. I'll actually end up reading others as well though, because I don't think I can read just one of the Rabbit books and I think The Town is also the third book in a trilogy...

No, you really must read "Rabbit" from the beginning. "At Rest" would simply not have the same meaning standing on its own.

I have only read one of these so I have a lot to look forward too. Are you going to try and read in a certain order or just have members pick and choose?

I'm not doing this as a read-a-long-type group, so members can just pick and choose books as they wish, and then let us know what they've read and what they thought about their reads.

I haven't read The Town nor any of the Rabbit series. I plan to tackle all of the Rabbit books in one "swell foop". That said, my current approach is to finish those which I need to get from InterLibary Loans and then to do the ones available in my local library systems. I'm waiting to see if Journey in the Dark (1944) can be borrowed. Once I read it, all the others I haven't read yet are locally available without me having to buy them.
