Fantasy Book Club discussion

Out of the six-books (not even sure how many chapters that is) my wife's favorite chapter is Chapter 1 of Avempartha. I was wondering what others thought of this particular chapter.

I think the book starts out really strong - the scene in the alley was very cinamatic -- I keep coming back to that theme - as I see your books as movies - which is what I really like about it.

I also think the scene on the bridge with the BD was an excellent way to give us background in a way that wasn't a boring info dump. I feel that Royce's past with the Black Diamond is going to be instrumnetal in the series and it was interesting the way you intertwined this with the very real situation of the BD warning them to get out of dodge.

Thanks Adam. Many people have said that they see it that away as well (like a movie) I must admit that is what I do. We actually have a few people working on movie possibilities.

1 - Is Jamie Reidy, his memoir "Hard Sell" was just released as "Love and Other Drugs" staring Jake Gylinhall and Anne Hathaway. He's pretty excited about the project and is pretty "well connected".

2 - Another person pitched it to the producdtion company that does (among other things) "The Mummy series". They were interested but ultimately passed. They did however say they would be willing to revisit it depending on how book sales go. I'm not holding my breath. ;-)
