Just finished Pride and Prejudice and hated it just as much this time. Figure I got all the literary culture I can stand for the next decade or so. It was very hard for me to relate to in one sense and same ole human condition in another. Just glad I completed it and now can get back to my more enjoyable fiction. I believe Don't Blink will be next.
I know how you feel Trisha. I try to read at least 1 book a year of the classics and then I don't feel guilty about reading what I want the rest of the year. I just finished Don't Blink. You will like it.
ok need to make a change, I thought I had Don't Blink but it was only a preview. So I opened Cain's Apples and it was only eleven pages long so I am now on to Mortal Ghost and will get back to Don't Blink at a later date.
Just finished "Mortal Ghost". Didn't really enjoy it either, I gave it two stars. Was a little busy for me, jumping around a lot. O'Well, moving on to another. I also started reading J.D. Robb's "Creation in Death". I have read it before and really enjoy all her "In Death" books.I didn't have anything else to read at the time and the nook needed charging so.....
Well just finsihed another one I anit gonna count as a book. The Glades, was actually a play and only 42 pages long. Was ok, I haven't watched it on TV either. Now moving on to Crime Scene at Cardwell Ranch.
Crime Scene at Cardwell Ranch was pretty good, held my intrest and was a quick read. Next on my list is Free to Die by Bob McElwain.
Wow I can't believe I already finished Free to Die. Nook said it was 472 pages but boy what a quick read. Another one that was just ok. I'm thinking I need to get away from these free nook books. Either they are too short to consider a real book or just ok to read. Will let you guess what I decide to read next when I know. Till then I guess I will finish Creation in Death.
Heat Wave by Richard Castle was pretty good. I couldn't help seeing the show in my minds eye while I was reading it though. I would rather read it first then see the movie, show, etc. My next is going to be The Morning After by Lisa Jackson. I have read her before and enjoyed.
The Night Before was pretty good. Kept me guessing who did it and I wasn't even close. Now starting The Morning After.
The Morning After was pretty good too. Not sure what is up next but will let you guys know when I do.
I enjoyed Lisa Gardner's "The Perfect Husband". Think I will read some more of the series soon. Now I am moving on to "Listen"
Stuck in the Middle was good, some of it applied to some things I am going through personally so....I then started a free three parter from B&N, the first part is "When Darkness Falls" by James Grippando, I have downloaded the second one and am waiting for it to show up on my nook, I am enjoying it so far and am going to check out some others by the same author.
Just finished "Heaven is for Real". Was a good book for me right now. Made me feel better about my dad passing 9 months ago. Should be able to get the third and last part in "When Darkness Falls" so should be done with that by the end of the week.
Finished "When Darkness Falls" and also read "Diary of a Mad Fat Girl". Will be checking out more books by Grippando and enjoyed McAfee but think the editing could of been a little better, kinda felt like something was lost in translation if it was translated, lol.
Well I have finished two more, "Cold Blooded" and "Heart on a Chain". They were both pretty good. Up next will be "Seattle Girl". Happy Reading:)
"Seattle Girl" was ok. Had a couple of cute parts but nothing to write home about for the most part. Up next "Her Last Letter".
I have finished two more, "Her Last Letter" and "House Rules". They both were ok, but a little slow. I will be glad when I finally find one that really gets me going. At least I keep trying to find it.
Wow Trisha you are a reading machine! I love reading your posts because I hear you voice in my head when I read them. Wow did I just say that I hear voices??
Hope all is well with you and yours. Rob and I were talking about how much fun it was hanging out with you guys. Rob is reading to go fishing with Mac.

Hey Missy, I have a lot of free time at work sometimes so I get a lot read and I read myself to sleep every night so a lot gets done that way too. I miss you guys too!! I love reading your facebook and you are right I can hear your voice in my head as I read them so I guess we both got it (the voices that is). We now have two boats, a little one for the lake and a big one for the ocean with a cabin and everything(inherited it from my dad along with the payments). Wish you all were here to enjoy it with us. I am sure we would be having a blast. Hope all is well with you all too.
ok I finished two more but I'm only counting one cause the second one was a preview. "Lovely" started out pretty good but something happened along about the end and I lost touch with it. The one I'm not counting was called "Fated", witches and wizards and all, got my attention and then just stopped and had a bunch more previews too which I didn't read. I really need to be more careful about these Nook freebies. Gonna try "For Sale in Palm Springs", suppose to be murder and mayhem so right up my alley I hope.
lol, yeah I been reading a lot. Computer was broke so been getting that back to normal and now for what I have been reading. "Bubba and the Dead Woman" by C.L. Bevill was ok, "Dead Reckoning" by Charlaine Harris which I love all these books can't wait for HBO to show next shows (June I believe), "Throwaway" by Heather Huffman was pretty good, and "Love is Murder" by Allison Brennan was ok, a little short though. Up next "Without Mercy" by Lisa Jackson.
Done with "Without Mercy" and "A Little Harmless Sex" (very adult reading). Both were pretty good. now reading "The Postcard Killers" by Patterson.
"The Postcard Killers" is a series and pretty good so far, "Long Hard Ride" (Another very adult one) was good too. Next is "No Time Left" and "Live to Tell"
ok finished "The Abbey" and "Everywhere That Mary Went", "No Time Left", "Person Of Interest", and "Live to Tell". I am currently reading "In The Dark" by Heather Graham which I will probably finish today. They all were pretty good.
I got side tracked....Read "Freaks" a Rizzoli & Isles Short Story... have you see the show? I like it. Also read "100 Quotes to Make You Think" didn't do a thing for me and "The Time Machine" which I hated. Now I'm on to "Jailbird".
Finished "Breakthrough!", very interesting, and "Jailbird" which was pretty good too. Now working on "Lethal People".
Finished "Lethal People" and "Adventures of Tom Sawyer". First was ok but I actually started enjoying Tom Sawyer after I got through the first 100 or so pages. Not sure whats up next.
snuck in another classic and hated it!!!! "The Souls of Black Folk". Gonna do "The Help" next while on vacation and before I see the movie.
Three more under my belt: "Ties That Bind", "Untouchable", and "The Magnicificent 12". Wondering if I will make my goal after all?? Have had a lot going on the last couple of weeks so haven't gotten as much reading done but o well life goes on. Happy Reading!!!!!
Just finished "Awakening and Selected Short Fiction" by Kate Chopin. Was a little interesting when I thought about the times during which she wrote these. Glad I finished another "educational" one. Wondering if I will make my goal, only time will tell.
Ok have read "Life, Love, and a Polar Bear Tattoo", "Within", "A Flash of Fear", "Urgent Questions 1", and "Beth's Journal". Most of these were really short freebies from B&N for the nook, none worth recommending.
