Andrez (andrez-ssi) I got asked to start a discussion about parents in general. I'd like to know what bugs you about your parents?

Thanks for your help ;)

meri (meri_is_a_saltedfish) | 127 comments what bugs me about my parents? oh...it's just that they my mother is always bugging me...ever since she married again, she became this make-believe mother who will listen to your problems...who's interested in what you do...what you like to eat..loves to ask many things...

i mean sure. she wants to go out, then i'll accompany her..if she wants to bake cookies, then i'll help her...but it's another matter if she tries prying on my things, trying to get hold of my diary (urghh)...

ow.! i'm ranting...sorry...just saying..

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments hahah wow.

Hmm, i dont really have many problems. Just the usual. Why do they care how I keep MY room!? Thats the main annoying thing. And they make a lot of fuss about little things. its like your just talking about something and it becomes into a lecture and then yeah.

message 4: by Lauren (new)

Lauren I totaly agree Ruby! i get lectured about my room ALL. THE. TIME. Its soooo annoying, and my big brothers room is just as bad ut he never gets punished!. Also is it just my mum and dad that does this or do your guys's parents forget things you say to them all the time then when u talk about it later they act as if you never said anything to them about it? Mine do that alot and it really bugs me because i am forever telling my mum things over and over again.

message 5: by meri (new)

meri (meri_is_a_saltedfish) | 127 comments Oh, my mom is like that, Lauren. Once I ask her if I could go to my friends 18th birthday and she said yes. Then, when night came and I'm already in my party dress. She asked where I'm going and I told her that we talked about it earlier that day. And you know what she said? She said she don't remember saying yes. ((urghh)) I was really in a very bad mood that night.

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments Haha yeah!
And like if I raise my voice ONCE she gets SO pissed off. But my brother. He does it ALL the time and she doesnt do anything about it. I think she's afraid of him. And she never admits he does even when i remind her the whole story.. *Sigh* and like she expects since im the girl, I should do the house work. And they make me and my older brother do everything because my little brother will always be too 'young' forever and ever.

message 7: by meri (new)

meri (meri_is_a_saltedfish) | 127 comments that's what my mom always do. and also because i'm a girl, i have to know how to cook and my room should be clean. i hate gender discrimination. :(

message 8: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Same here. I get limited because i'm a girl and they worry about me more. Even though i am more responsible than my big brother.

message 9: by Nate (new)

Nate In our house we are ALL expected to keep our room straightened.

message 10: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Ugh. I cant imagine what my room looks like clean. I prefer it messy, it looks lived in :P

message 11: by Nate (new)

Nate Idk I guess im odd cus I can't stand clutter. lol so its never been a big deal to me to just keep it picked up.

message 12: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Nate wrote: "Idk I guess im odd cus I can't stand clutter. lol so its never been a big deal to me to just keep it picked up."

I wish i was like that because my room being messy causes alot of drama in my house (for unknown reasons, it is MY room...)but i just really hate tidying, i'm un-domesticated lol.

message 13: by Nate (new)

Nate @ lauren

to each his own (or whatever that saying is) lol Some ppl like tidy some perfer messey.

My brothers room is not perfect his closet is a disaster but my parents are ok as long as the room doesn't have like clothes thrown all over the floor and stuff hanging out of drawers...that kinda stuff.
Now if my brother isn't able to close the closet then there's a problem LOL

message 14: by Lauren (new)

Lauren haha, yeh my cuboard is like that too, i gave up on puting stuff up because i coudnt read my clothes on the top shelf lol. Yeh thats true, i dont like my room to be too messy or anything, is just clutterd. I just never get why my mum and step-dad care because its MY room lol.

message 15: by Nate (new)

Nate Idk ...my dad would say, your room is in MY house. LOL

message 16: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Ha! touche. lol

message 17: by Nate (new)

message 22: by Nate (new)

Nate ome of the conversations that take place in this house really leave me shaking my head. but I guess I should be happy I have parents that are open and we can talk to about anything. ANYTHING!!..ahhhhh

Amina (journalistam) Nate wrote: "Idk I guess im odd cus I can't stand clutter. lol so its never been a big deal to me to just keep it picked up."

oh wow, same here. I don't remember the last time my room was as messy as a normal teenagers room.

message 24: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) Nate wrote: "Idk ...my dad would say, your room is in MY house. LOL"

hahhahah, but that's true. It's what my dad says too.

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments LOL! That's awesome (the 'mom and I are rich hut youve got nothing' thing!)

It's not that I LIKE my room messy. I'm just bad at cleaning it up! I like my things! And when it's 'cleaned up' most of my things go bye bye!

And my mom says that even though we are living in a rented house!

message 26: by meri (new)

I really hate seeing my room messy. But I'm a busy person and have no time for cleaning. And it's not like I never cleaned my room,..I just clean it when I feel uncomfortable sleeping there with all the mess...I cleaned it awhile ago...it'll stay clean for a week or two then, back to normal again...:(

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments Hahaha same

message 28: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Soooo, i'm the only one that likes having a clutterd room? lol. It's just 'cause i think a really put together room isnt cozy lol.

message 29: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) I can't sleep until my room is spick and span. I actually have a mild case of rupophobia.

@lauren: don't worry, I know lads of people like you. Actually, I thought everyone was like you till I came on gr.

message 30: by Lauren (new)

Lauren lol, yeh my friends seem to be like me so i dont feel like a total slob :P.

message 31: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) All my non-virtual friends are like you. I shiver when I think about their rooms. guh.

Jerry | 850 comments my dad keeps saying he's going to smash the computer because i have homework so i'm always on. he says computers should never had been made.

message 33: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) so, why not go to the heart of the problem and just end homework?

(jk, or maybe not- i hate homework)

message 34: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) @Mary: Your parents didn't party when they were young? Huh. Weird.

message 37: by David (new)

David jones | 135 comments Well, I think that my parents are pretty annoying. they are pretty overprotective at times and it gets annoying. they do a lot of nit picking like when I wanna play an M rated video game or watch an R rated movie when its just a game or a movie. So yea. its just mainly the simple stuff that makes my parents annoying to me, just sayin lol.

message 38: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 23, 2011 05:00PM) (new)

I'm so jealous of Nate right now. :) I can't tell my mom ANYTHING. That's why I never tell people anything because I feel like if I told you an opinion I had about something ,I've given you a part of me.And I hate just the thought of that.

Usually, because I don't talk that much,if I say something personal people get all silent and I feel stupid so mostly I keep quiet and I only talk when absolutely nessecary.

message 39: by Nate (last edited Jan 23, 2011 06:04PM) (new)

Nate @Sy

Maybe you just need to open up a bit more. Maybe people get quiet because it's so out of character for you, that they aren't sure how to react.
You don't have to open up with anything major, start off small by letting your mum hear a favorite song or something like that.

& I wouldn't be jealous of anyone, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. lol

message 40: by Emma (new)

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments Haha my dad would NEVER say that computers should never had been made. He practically lives in one. Well not really... But he needs his laptop for work. Yeaaah they dont get that the generation is different. Today my dad came in my room and he's like "What ARE these children doing to their room?" And stuff like that. And my room was clean, just some things on the floor and my closet open and books and papers on my desk... and he doesn't realise that its a completely normal room for a teenager in this generation.

message 43: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) Uhm... so I'm kind of abnormal for being bothered my open closet doors, books lying around, clothes hung up everywhee?

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments Hahaha yes!

Smog1997 (confuzzlement) | 163 comments aughh, I wish I could keep my room neat, but I share it with my 9 year old sister, so as soon as it gets even remotely clean, it gets dirty again. this is really annoying as our room which i want to paint soooo badly, can't be painted until it's neat. I've taken up a protest by sleeping on our living room couch, well not so much of a protest, but more to relieve the frustration that I get when I'm in my room.
