This book could fall under more than one category, really. I had a tough time deciding whether it was really better suited under contemporary/realistic. It probably would be.
But the humor in this book is spot on. Lisa Madigan does such a great job of capturing the teenage boy voice that I really did LOL! (hehe...)
Blake's funny inner thoughts and commentary temper the seriousness of the situations he encounters with his friend, Marissa. And I loved watching him flounder with how to be a boyfriend.
Lisa recently posted that she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer that's spread to her liver. Her prognosis is not good. It made me think about how much joy her book brought me, and I had to share it. What a shame for her, and for us. :-(
