Mary wrote: "4. The Proper Care and Maintenance of Friendship by Lisa Verge Higgins"What did you think of this one? It looked interesting when I saw it in a new release email from somewhere.
7. Caribou Island by David Vann (4/5 stars). Very bleak but the writing is so good. Will read more by this author. Goodreads First Reads review copy.
9. Goodnight Tweetheart by Teresa MedeirosCute, light though unexpectedly emotional novel - or as the cover states: A Love Story in 140 Characters or Less. I liked it. Would be the perfect beach read or cross-country flight book.
11. Revolution: The Year I Fell in Love and Went to Join the War by Deb Olin UnferthPretty amazing memoir of a couple of college kids who drop out and go to Nicaragua to join the revolution. I couldn't relate but it was an interesting story. 4/5 stars just because it was different from any memoir I've ever read.
Andrea wrote: "Mary, I posted that this looked interesting under another thread. I'm glad you liked it!"Andrea, I had my issues with it but I also enjoyed parts of it.
17. The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender4/5 stars
18. Wild Man Creek by Robyn Carr
Another good addition to the Virgin River series :)
Andrea wrote: "The Hunchback of Neiman Marcus, what a GREAT title!!!"It will be out in April - a fun read!
22. Texas Blue by Jodi ThomasIf you've read the Whispering Mountain series you'll enjoy this first book in the new series about the next generation of the McMurray family. I'm a fan of Jodi Thomas' contemporary novels but new to her historical novels. I really liked Texas Blue.
The Knights of the Dawn King by Scott Stabler. If you love epic fantasy...you will love this 5 stars for me.
Mary wrote: "25. Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas (my first LK historical) 4/5 stars"Isn't she yummy Mary? I'm definitely a fan.
I really enjoyed it, Michele. Cam was a unique 'hero' :) Have you read the rest of the series? I hope to read book 2 next month.
No, I haven't read the rest but I have book 2 loaded up on my Kindle and ready to go. Let me know when you start and when we finish we can discuss!
And I'm excited to read about Win and Merri. I liked him, he was very mysterious and obviously very in ove with Win.
28. How To Love An American Man by Kristine Gasbarre4/5 stars - review will post closer to pub. date in August
Andrea, I recommend listening - I think the narrator puts the book on my 2011 favorites list - he was so good!
31. The Paris Wife by Paula McLain3.5/5 stars - I liked it but felt like I was watching a car wreck as I passed it on the freeway. I listened to the audiobook.
