Lorie -- I signed up at Bethany House. How do you get your selections? Will they send me a list to pick from?
On the form I put some selections, it let me do a certain number. But then I never knew if I was going to get any or not it just came.
After you join another form comes up I think, its been awhile since I did it. I think Camille has also gotten things from Bethany House.
Yeah I just fill out the form and it's always a surprise what shows up. As Lorie said, it's like Christmas!
For Bethanyhouse, you have to also write a review for a consumer site like Amazon and your blog.
I had an email from them this past week from Baker Publishing to update my profile. This is Bethany and Revell...so hopefully there will be more offers!
Janet wrote: "I signed up a long time ago and have never gotten a book."Check your spam folder to make sure the e-mail that they send gets to your inbox and also when you get the e-mail you need to reply right away. I have gotten a few books from them to review.
I've started reviewing more for Revell and Bethany House this year! I review for TheChristianManifesto.com and for a while Baker had weird rules about sending me PDFs (since I live in the UK and it's expensive to post books) but it seems like their rules have changed this year as I have been sent a couple of PDF books to review.
What does it mean. You read them, then write a review? Do you write it on your blog or their website? Do you keep the books? Sorry for so many questions! :P

Ask away we all started out at one point or another. :)
Thanks. I had heard about some type of reviewing before but hadn't looked very far into it...Is it free to join? Is it just compensation of writing a blog?
Well you need to set up a blog if you have not already. Yes its free to join there are other sites you can get books from as well.
I just got offered a book, and they asked if I knew anyone who would be interested!www.bethanyhouse.com/bookreviewers
I have read Dale's first book and just bought the second...because I updated my profile with them they are sending me Julie Klassen's book....so that left The Rose of Winslow Street ...the only one left! Hope it's good!
On January 25th I received the following message from Bethany House...
This email is to confirm that you will receive a copy of The Captive Heart for review. Thank you for participating in our review program!
Today I received a large padded envelope from Bethany House! Sadly, it was open and empty. I posted a photo of it.
I hope they'll send me another copy.

I didn't get an email announcing books to review this time. I am sad. I hope so to Barbara Ann. Keep us posted.
How sad Barbara someone snitched your book, sure hope they learn something from that....I signed up for this program - sure hope to get something....
I received my copy in the mail yesterday with no problem. Now I just need to finish Paradise Valley so I can start The Captive Heart!

I've heard of this happening before, sometimes a package can get so badly bashed in the sorting office that the book falls out, especially if it's not wrapped properly. I hope that Bethany House are able to send you another copy.
Barbara, if they don't for some reason send you another copy, I would love to send you my copy! So let me know if that's the case and then you can still read it!!

You're too kind. Thanks.

:( I hope that doesn't mean someone stole it!
If they stole it, and read it, maybe the fact that it's Christian fiction will ring a little bell in their head... Teach them a lesson!

Kinda reminds me of a time my law books were stolen from my car. I though, how ironic! You break the law and end up with a backpack of books about the law... Maybe it'll teach you a lesson!
I contacted the woman who sent me the email and she's going to send me another copy. I should have suggested that they close the envelope more securely, but I've only just thought of it.
Maybe someone will find the original copy and wind up joining us here -- wouldn't that be something!
