"We were going to the ocean, hundreds of miles away, because I wanted to see the ocean and my father said that it was about time the four of us made that journey. I remember asking, 'What’s the difference between a trip and a journey?' and my father said, 'Narnie, my love, when we get there, you’ll understand,' and that was the last thing he ever said."

I really liked this quote! Any thoughts on it? Thinking back to Jellicoe Road... did Narnie experience a trip or a journey?

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Definitely a Journey. A sad, long, winding one, but a Journey.

Putting a quote thread in for each book may be a good idea. I have the urge to post some of my own favorite Jellicoe Road quotes, but don't want to snatch your thread.

please do! I am the only one one here so far lol I want this to be a place where we can discuss books and how we react to them. Books just open something in me and I just feel the need to talk about it with others! Man, if only I felt this way in English class...

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Well I'll try to invite some people and post some books that were thought provoking for me. See if we can lure more in.

I could talk about books for hours. Whenever I read a book I immediately want someone to pour my heart out to over it. I think that's why I flock to this website and groups like this.

We'll have to post some non-YA books too...
