Shrink Rap (Psychology Books) discussion

Hello everyone! I'm a psychology student particularly interested in abnormal psychology, and I thought I'd recommend A Bright Red scream for anyone interested in the whys of self-mutilation. I haven't completed it but it is well-documented, albeit a little older, meaning it can't comment as much on the fashion of SI. If anyone reads it, let me know what you think!

Hi -- I've read the book, and thought it was very well done. I liked that it used case histories in a non-sensationalist way, and I thought it presented a good balance between narrative case history and more clinical writing.

Could you expand, though, on what you mean by "the fashion of self-injury? I'm not sure how you mean it.

I read this a long time ago. When there wasn't much on this subject. But the research done for the book was great.
