SciFi and Fantasy eBook Club discussion

This book is really three inter-related novellas from three different generations of Macxs (Macxes?) and I think they each have a very different feel even though they make one complete story.

So, what do you think about Manfred and the opening stage of the book? It's near future but an unnamed date and it felt 15 years in the future when I read the book 5 years ago and it still feels about 15 years in the future re-reading it.

I like the first generation of Macxs!

I think I'm going to pass on both selections this month and get caught up with some other reading. But I promise I'll be back for March.

I've read seven Honor Harrington books by David Weber and am thinking about reading another couple in that series. I'm in a Science book club here on GR and we are reading Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void this month. I also went to look for a PG Wodehouse book and found The Novels of P.G. Wodehouse mysteriously missing from my Kindle so I need to download that again. So there's a few on my TBR list this month--there's no telling what I'll actually end up reading!

I'm also going to pass on this book. I've read three Stross novels before this and while they weren't bad they weren't top notch either. I've got around 225 titles on my GR TBR pile alone and I want to knock that down this year.

It seemed a bit further out than 15 years to me - less than 50, but not as near future as 15 years.

Darn...I've had a copy of this sitting on my Kindle for awhile, but I don't think I'll be getting to it any time soon, due to life piling up on me right now. In fact, it may be some weeks/months before I get back to having time for "assigned" reading again. :-(
