The intro is incredible. The haunted hay ride was great. You get a great feelig of Crow and how the rest of the book will be from this point on.
I just read a funny quote, "When Tony lost it, it would be up to Ruger to take Lady Death by the tits and giver a good tweak. That's how he saw it. Give Lady Death's tits a good tweak." That is hilarious!
I agree the haunted hay ride was so good that I knew there would be no way to put the book down. When he got stuck in the mud, I about had a heart attack. But when I found out it was all a scam, I felt like the joke had been played on me personally.
Had you going there for a minute didn't it! I was like oh crap now they are all gonna be torn to shreds!
Ghost Road Blues seems to be a lot more supernatural than the Joe Ledger books. Is this common throughout the Pine Deep trilogy?
I'm reading about Tow Truck Eddie and his daily prayers. I have a feeling things are about to get crazy for Mike.
I just started part two and a couple of things stood out to me. The white stag and the impala. One reminds me of Harry Potter, the other my favorite tv show.
I just finished chapter 17 and all I can say is, damn! If you are not reading this book I feel sorry for you.
Mikes on his way home and I'm afraid the truck is going to come back to finish the evil that was intended.... Good thing the Deer was there to keep him moving in the right direction.

Your profile says that you are reading Patient Zero, you should go into that thread and comment on what you think so far. I have read it twice and can discuss it.

I just finished the book and the ending is way creepy!Crow and Val think troubles are over, but it appears that they are just beginning.
I started reading it earlier this week and I'm about 1/2 way through right now.The prologue was excellent. It really sucked me into the story and I wish I could just sit down and have the time to read it straight through. Great book so far.
I read this book for a class and was really glad I did. It's been on my list for a while now. The beginning is so tense I jumped when my boyfriend walked into the room! I think Crow is one of my favorite characters in any book. I'd love to shop at his shop :)

I also loved the beginning. Cracked me up.

I'm getting my Master's in Library Sciences and this semester I am taking a Reader's Advisory class. We get to read a lot of genre literature. We had to pick a horror/sci fi/fantasy award winner. I picked this because it won a Stoker Award.
I loved the beginning as well. I remember thinking, wow, this Maberry guy doesn't mess around. He jumps right in!
Good book. I don't understand that drunken ass Momma of Mike's. The 1st time he hit me would've been his last. The whole town is scared of the a-hole. I'd get em while he slept. Crush his hands. I hate bullies.
Malcolm Crow is the most likeable protagonist I have read or have seen for that matter. I liked him a lot.
Just started reading Ghost Road Blues at lunch. Could not put it down. Reading at work which means I'm gonna lose my job, won't be able to pay my mortgage and I'll have to live under a bridge arguing Keynesian economics with belligerent squirrels. Dang it, Maberry ! You KNOW how single minded those squirrels are !!
