Any ideas on how to make a good character? Any tips?

Think yourself as the character and think of how you would react if you were this character. The character shouldn't be like you. Make them different and describe them as if they are telling you about themselves :P

Ahh. Good advice. I have trouble being a snotty or mean person. That might help.
