PRAYER FOR PEACE

Hi Chris: Who is talking about religion? If you took the time to read the prayer, you should take a few minutes more to see the source where explain that this prayer that not belong to any specific religion so, anyone at anytime and any moment can read it!There is always a place to fight, to be rude to be offensive why not be all the opposite and be a symbol of PEACE!
Now, you said: “This has nothing to do with writing” maybe for your kind of writing but, for my kind it is completely. I do love writing for teens about tourism, religion and moral items.
I have posted this prayer in all the internet “clubs” where I am for two main reasons: one, to pray along with all those who believe that with this we are doing something to combat the miseries of our world and two, because it is a way to let you know a bit about me.
We all are here with the same aim: to meet people and share our passion for reading and writing. Please let everybody be as he or she wants; and uses their own strategies as they prefer! Thanks!
Praying has never solved a thing.Sure, it feels good to the person doing the praying, but does it really 'fix' anything?
I think humans need to stop spending so much time praying to 'whomever' and take more action.
Instead of praying for peace, why don't we perform more peaceful actions? Not complaining so much; not rushing around so much; walking instead of driving a car. Personal actions solves problems.
That's the problem with 'religions' -- they all want some 'god' to take care of the problem instead of humans taking responsibility for their own actions.
My strategy: Take care of myself and take care of my own.
A quick question: How would you feel if I was on here posting a call for anarchy and chaos and revolution because I think that's the way to bring about change? Wouldn't there be a part of you that cringes with that thought? The point is, is that this group IS supposed to be about the act writing and creating, not a call for us to be discussing our personal life philosophies.
Good thing you posted Sarah, I was at first going to let this pass, but then Nashly's response irritated the hell out of me.I came on to post something very against this thread, but thankfully you posted.
Sarah: if you think that “Praying has never solved a thing” it is up to you and if you would love to discuss your philosophy it is right as well. That is the beautiful thing of freedom.I cannot understand why some people get angry for a simply post when I only try to get people union. I did not write that prayer, but I do love to have the talent to write things like this.
I have read many religion books and I have never heard that kind of nasty comments of them. I am working in a short story book that talks some bit about religion staff so, would you judge me for that as well. Would that annoy you? If it so; I don´t care.
Kevin: I was not irritated you were! It is just my right to reply to you.
I am sorry; I cannot do anything about your moon. It is your choice to feel whatever you want.
The only thing that I want to stress is that: since we are not always be please with people acts, we have to be more patient!
And again if there is always a place to fight, to be rude to be offensive why not be all the opposite and be a symbol of PEACE!
Haven't y'all heard the saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say..."
Something that was posted good intentions has turned into something not so nice. Be careful.

So, let's start with my political view: I'm a firm believer in both Rational Conservatism and Selective Anarchy. Though I am Christian, I am also a bit of a realist when it comes to this "praying for things" idea. Prayer has never solved anything or brought lasting peace. Peace has never been the strongest catalyst for human advancement or endeavor (though it does remain a laudable goal). I think the best we can actually hope for is limited chaos and suffering. That said, I'm also inclined to remind everyone that a prayer for peace has never done any harm.
Nasbly: I never said I was angry, and I most certainly was not angry when I wrote what I wrote. I was just presenting an alternate point of view. I honestly don't think anything I said was "nasty," nor was it intended to be "nasty." More horrible things have been said about religion than what I said. Best to you--
Sarah
The point is this is a forum about writing, not about praying. I'm sure there are plenty of other message boards out there set up specifically for those who wish to discuss religion.
