Barlow from Salem's Lot. The proper (non-shiny) vampire, a facade of civility covering an insatiable demand for blood and pain. Fun!
Edmond Dantes aka the Count from The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre DumasIago from Othello
V from V for Vendetta not sure if these are villians they are all rather borderline

Haha yes, most likely.
I always root for really bad villains to die. I was happy when Voldemort did. There aren't really any other villains that I hate because a lot of them just end up either being crazy or they just disappear.
not really, kronos in Percy Jackson was sent back to his hole in the underworld cuz he's a titan so he can't die or anything, he didn't go crazy & didn't disappear.
ya wait, doesn't kronos still exist at the end of the Percy Jackson series?Sometimes Villains are hard to place. Some walk the line. And some seem good but suddenly you realize they were the root of all the evil in the novel!
ex: Tom Buchanan in the Great Gatsby
Iago from Othello (I actually liked him more than Othello!) and Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca from Angels & Demons

Cassius is one of the Caesar's underlings. He's the one who really starts the plot because of his greed and jealously of Caesar, he get's Brutus to come around. If it hadn't been for Cassius, Caesar would probably still be alive, or at least might have died peacefully.
Richard III from the play of the same name by Shakespeare, Lord Fujiwara from Tales of the Otori
The dark in The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper
It's a bit of a cheat, but Arnaud Amalric (from Massacre at Monsegur, a history of the Cathars) is a pretty decent villain (Kill them all, and let God identify his own). Samadhi, Moksha and Turiya, the ravers from the Thomas Covenant series are all pretty nasty, and I hated Bernardo Gui from The Name of the Rose.
Cersei Lannister
I simply Love to hate her <3 Beauty and the Beast in one package.. :) Except Beast in bad way .. ;)

JOFFREY BARATHEON
Bellatrix( <3 her!)- Harry PotterAsha Greyjoy-Game of thrones
Cersi Lannister- Game Of thrones
Frankenstein's Monster- Frankenstein
Lestat- Vampire Chronicles
I just hate Joffery so he is not a favorite.
I am sure there are more i just can't think of them now.
wait in that case since I simply hate Joffrey as well I withdraw my previous assertion then:Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones)
Lady Macbeth (Macbeth)
Azula (Avatar the Last Airbender)
Kurtz (Heart of Darkness)
Cassius (Julius Caesar)
Alex (A Clockwork Orange)
Akito (Fruit's Basket)
Voldemort (Harry Potter)
Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter)
^it appears that I root for the villain quite often
@Gorfo I usually love the villan more then the hero. I am just strange like that. I also like Azula. I so need to get caught up on Avatar. She was bada**.

Let's not joke though I was also cheering for Fire Lord Ozai a little bit when I saw how handsome he was in the anime. I also cheered for Iroh even when I thought he was nuetral evil!
Hannibal Lecter from Silence Of The Lambs
Gretchen Lowell from Heartsick
Tori from Closer Than Blood
Mike Hunt from River's Edge
Ben Dover from Homorockia
Ann Guish from Torment
Ivana Humpalot from Screw Me Blue

Charles Dickens wrote some wonderful villains: James Steerforth, Uriah Heep, and Mr. Murdstone from "David Copperfield;" Daniel Quilp from "Old Curiosity Shop;" and Bill Sikes from "Oliver Twist" come to mind easily.
