I recently finished the latest by James Lee Burke, then Arnaldur Indridason, and just today, the latest by John Connolly. I stayed most of the night last night reading JC. I luv luv luv his books.
I love Angel, and Parker is too cool , for some reason I see him as a look alike for the Magnum P.I. guy , cant think of his name .
I really like the Jesse Stone TV series Tom does. I love Charlie Parker but haven't really "seen" him yet. I was drawn to the books because of this name of the character (I love jazz). Have you read The Reaper yet? It's basically about Louis, but Angel is definitely maintaining his own. They are so wonderful together. Just a really good read.
Jeffrey Deaver has to be up there at the top of my list, as well as, Dennis Lehane.Patricia Cornwell's early Kay Scarpetta books are pretty good.
Erica Spindler is good too....
I could go on and on
Yes, I agree Dennis Lehane is one of the best. I Can't wait to read the new book he has coming out. I would also add Charlie Huston, Lee Child, and Mark Billingham. Whenever I read anything by these authors I can feel my body tense up and I lose all track of time.
Patricia Cornwell does it completely for me, especially the ones she wrote till maybe two or three years ago. I only readone of the newer ons and I still liked it a lot but I noticed it was different than her others and I had heard this of many...but she stays for me the best of all living suspense writers!!! Especially her Scarpetta serie!Others I like are Henning Mankell, Kathy Reichs, Minette Walters, Clive Cussler
Harlan Coben is my absolute favorite... I also like Erica Spindler, Joy Fielding, Lisa Gardner and Sandra Brown.
I second (or maybe third) Joy Fielding, Lisa Gardner, Dean Koontz, Dennis Lehane. Also, love Greg Isles and David Baldacci.
I have just posted the Top 10 Thriller Novels I've read over the last couple years at: http://toptenthrillernovels.blogspot....
Enjoy! =)
Enjoy! =)
Not in order of preference: James Lee Burke, Harlan Coben, Henning Mankell, Arturo Perez-Reverte, Dashiell Hammet, Raymond Chandler, Robert Parker, Daniel Silva, Alan Furst, John Lescroart. That's ten. Others in the alternate top ten: Jeffrey Deaver, T. Jefferson Parker, Michael Connelly, Lawrence Block, Jonathan Kellerman, John Grisham, Robert Ludlum, Barry Eisler, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (when they co-author), Vince Flynn.
I have to get my hands on a John Connolly book. I've never read him and I think I may be missing something.
Harlan Coben, Lee Child, F. Paul Wilson, Dean Koontz, James Lee Burke, C.J. Box, Barry Eisler, C.J. Sansom, Ken Follett, Roger Crais and Ariadne Franklin are some of my favorites.
David Baldacci, Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie(Poirot only), some of Robert Ludlum's earlier works, Sam Bourne, Grisham, Robin Cook.... its endless really.
I like to search for new talent when it comes to suspense-thrillers, and I recently read a new novel by Shain Strausberg that drew me all the way in and wouldn't let me go. The title's Tainted Vengeance (Kindle Bookstore), and I found it to be as good or better than anything by D. Baldacci. It's definitely an enthralling read!
Just finished
Fantastic psychological thriller that brought on emotions that I have never experienced from words on a page before. It is disturbing, graphic yet heart wrenching and enthralling all at once. Probably made my top three favorite books of all time. I don't really know how to describe it other than it just really moved me. He has already won awards for this debut novel.
