Thanks! I'm still working on chapter 6, but it's coming along.

This was my grandpa's favorite poem before he died. I didn't write it and I don't know who did, but I really like it. It's called "I Know Something Good About You"

Wouldn't this world be better
If the folks we meet would say,
"I know something good about you!"
And treat us just that way?

Wouldn't it be fine and dandy
If each handclasp, fond and true,
Carried with it this assurance,
"I know something good about you!"

Wouldn't life be lots more happy
If the good that's in us all
Was the only thing about us
That folks bothered to recall?

Wouldn't life be lots more happy
If we praised the good we see?
For there's such a lot of goodness
In the worst of you and me!

Wouldn't it be nice to practice
That fine way of thinking too?
You know something good about me,
I know something good about you!

Getting away

I am consumed
by the evil around me
it washes away
all happy memories

It changes me
from the inside out
I lose all the goodness
that I once had

My heart turns black
the devil creeping in
This is my punishment
for one mistake

My heart yearns
for it to turn back
It wants to be free
and tries to break through

Love is there
inside the heart
When I look at you
it comes to life

My heart is healed
no longer black
goodness consumes me
with all your shining light

My heart is free
full of joy
so big
it starts beating fast

I can now
do what I please
and keep out the evil
that was once inside of me

Darkness and Light

In the night
everything's so dark
where is the light
in all of this turmoil?

The night
it makes me sad
when the darkness grows
everything disappears

I'm fading away
not a thing matters
my depression continues
until something happens

There's a light
but where is it coming from?
It gets brighter and brighter
until the darkness is gone

In the light
everything is so bright
the darkness is gone
bringing me back

The light
makes me happy
the light grows
and all the bad vanishes

I am saved
You're the light
that keeps me whole
keeps me alive

I'm free
from the darkness
no longer surrounded
You saved me

Forever in your debt
will I be
but I love you
so it's worth it

Thank you
for seeing me
For loving me
Forever

The night is gone

You are my joy

My Downfall

I was a fool
I thought you could change
but it was only a fantasy
that I put in my head

You're ruining me
You're taking what's mine
My love..
You took him away

You need to be punished
for what you've done
My love isn't dead

It's only been a day..

This Game

I'm tired of this game
it's getting really lame

Should I keep writing this?

My boyfriend wrote this for me, isn't that sweet?

As the dawn breaks
and the morning wakes.
The world starts it's search
for the perfect flower to gaze upon
it looks to the east and to the west.
It looks for something to match the sun as it takes its long journey through the sea of blue.
It searches for the most perfect thing but it cannot decide.
With hope almost lost, it starts to cry
is there nothing to outshine the sun?
Then a door opens wide
and you walk outside.
The earth and moon gasp as they find their hero.
The sun accepts
and the battle begins.
The sun radiates with all of its might.
It howls in pain in the late evening blight
as the moon ushers in the night.
The sun's not giving as it spreads its rays across the sky.
It will not give up the fight.
It turns the sky with it's magnificent rays
it sheds its light with all of its might.
As its brilliant rays reach through the evening sky
you begin to shine.
As the night falls you have only just begun.
As you sparkle in the night
the sun knows he has lost the fight.
The sun is beat is it gives to the twilight.
The heavens dim and the night begins.
The stars begin their travel from beyond to see the one who out shined the sun.
The stars all gasp at the beauty of the one whom beat the eternal heat.
They all shine to wish you well
for you are the only one who could ever beat the sacred sun.

When you sing the seas overflow.
As you make harmony with the world around you
you start to rise to your call.
The birds are jealous as they try to echo your sweet words without duress.
The birds will have to stand be be content
for you have an angel's voice.
