He does write creepy books. My Mom has a TON of his books. Spencer- he's this author. Have you ever heard of IT? He created IT. IT's this monster creepy clown that has razor-sharp death and practically spells death!(: And Erica- I haven't read any of his books either!
Stephen king is a really awesome aouther!!!!! I am planing on reading his books. Anybody who likes creepy books and hasent read any Stephen King should reed his books!!!!
I think Stephen King is great. Having read his earlier work and having read some of his more modern day stuff (last 5 years), I can definitly see his maturity as a writer from one of just gross horror/terror to more of mind terror and situational terror. More Psychological now than before I think.
I tried reading "It" last year but stopped after about a thousand pages. I dunno why but I just couldn't get through it. I haven't tried any of his other stuff... any suggestions?
I've only read Gunslinger, Drawing of the Three, Wastelands, currently reading Wizard and Glass... so all I know is the Dark Tower a small sample but I enjoy all thoroughly. Great reads, I have The Stand and Under the Dome waiting for me already.
I would suggest the Dark Tower series, The Gunslinger seemes (to me at least) a little slow in relation to the other ones but once you get to The Drawing of the Three it's great.

Hay Reese sorry for deleting you from my frends list, I don't have anyting agenst you, but my crazy mom says i con't be friends with anyone older then me. so sorry. :(
I think Stephen King is awesome. I'm reading all the way through the Dark Tower series for the third time. Currently on book seven. I also heard there is supposed to be a new one coming out Spring of 2012. Anyone else looking forward to that?
I haven't read all of his books, but I've quite enjoyed those that I have read. I'm fond of 'The Shining' and 'On Writing', in particular.I've got fond memories of standing in line (at an anime convention), reading 'The Shining' and reflecting on the differences between that and the movie that I'd seen a few times. They're both really good.
@JOHN Did you see both movie versions of "The Shining" or only one? I think my all-time favorite King book is "Needful Things".
Probably because it was the first book I read and because the subject matter is so simple.
@Alledria : I think I've seen both the Kubrick and the TV movie one. The TV movie one didn't really grab me, though.
