HeyT Okay, is it just me or are the introductions to classics the lamest things ever? It's like they don't care that some of us like to read cover to cover and aren't actively familiar with the storyline because HELLO we haven't read the text yet! I can see wanting to give an overview of the main themes and all that but don't get into the specifics until I've read the story please. Sorry, but that has always bugged me.

I completely agree. Unless I'm already familiar with the plot of a book, I usually avoid the introduction at this point. Introductions should be at the end of a book! :)

HeyT It's like a train wreck for me though. I like to start at page i until the back cover which means going through the introduction but then I always get pissed even though I know what's coming. :P

Amyjzed | 2 comments I usually go to the introduction or analysis later, if when I'm done I want to know more about the book's significance.
