I like sequel books. Sometimes I'm just not ready to say goodbye to certain characters. Also, sometimes I get to the end of a book and I feel like the real story is just beginning, that there is so much more still.

I agree often, Cassie. Which of my books do you want a sequel or spin off to?

I think it would be neat to see a continuation or spin off of Magic Hour. It's been a long time since I read it so forgive me for not remembering the characters' names. But I'd love to see a story several years later with how the little girl and her wolf have adapted to their new lives. And how she's progressed. Maybe a story about her all grown up...
I've only read four of your books so far which are Firefly Lane, True Colors, Night Road and Winter Garden. My favorite so far is Firefly Lane. I connected with the characters immediately because of the tight friendship and love they had for one another. Shortly after I read that book, my BFF of 30 years was diagnosed with breast cancer. She also has two kids like the character in your book. The story still touches me on so many levels. As for book sequels, I don't mind them if the story is good and there is a purpose behind it. True Colors would be an interesting sequel because for part of the book the characters were at war with each other and one was locked up. I would love to see you dive back into that story and discuss the relationships between those characters and perhaps add some more drama to it.
I did notice the mention of Nic from Mystic Lake in Magic Hour. I thought that was a clever little connection. Maybe Izzy and Alice could meet someday.
OMG! The above comment if from my BFF ( the one who is driving up from Maryland to NJ to see you )... I just made a similar post over at our comments in the "writting process " discussion... How funny is that!!! I guess we think alike : )

I have a hard time getting on board with books where the women try too hard to stick it out w/ their dirtbag husbands. :) BUT that being said, I would love a story about what happens AFTER Annie "headed north." I think it would be great to follow Izzy and Kathleen as they grow, either as friends, sisters, or wherever Annie & Nick lead them.
I guess I will have to go but Mystic Lake with all this talk...I love sequels , knowing what happened next to some people, even if it is a cameo type apperance.
I would love to find out how the characters from Firefly Lane's lives continue. I miss them! I like sequels because you don't have to say goodbye to the people in the book, well most of them. ;)
I love sequels! Once I connect to the character I want to find out what else is happening in her life. I recently read a trilogy and I was truly devastated and disappointed in the author that she stopped at 3...lol. I would've kept reading more and more if she would've continued the series. I would love to see a sequel to Firefly Lane, as that was my favorite so far. I would be open to Mystic Lake too! :)

I don't know if you have read them, but there is a small character in the book gods in Alabama by Joshilyn Jackson (one of my fave books ever btw!!) that she takes and gives her own book, Backseat Saints. I thought that was a very cool idea. I already loved Alabama and when I found out Saints was a type of spin off, I immediately wanted to pick it up. (I would have read it anyway of course, I've read all of her books) but it was fun to try to put the two together, make the connections between characters, and see the overlap. Something like that could be very cool for one of your smaller characters. Just a thought I had when reading through some of the posts in this thread. :-)
Kristin wrote: LOL. I'm with you on the dirtbag husbands...:) Haha This made me laugh! I just feel like I have read several books lately that have this thread of storyline and it always makes me so cranky at the character! I want to just shake them and say WAKE UP!! KWIM!?! :-)

I read Between Sisters first, and then later picked up Distant Shores and was so excited that I already had a glimpse into Elizabeth's life through the eyes of her best friend Meghann. It made me so eager to learn more about her that I finished the book in a day. (As opposed to the 2 days it normally takes me to finish one of your books!)Also - Sidebar Comment - I went to a Border's Liquidation Sale in Minneapolis yesterday expecting to pick up every book of yours that I have yet to read and was slightly disappointed to find that they were already out of all Kristin Hannah novels. Then I started to get a little excited, like this was proof that I have great taste in books and there are other people out there just as hungry to read them as I am!
Kristin, I just love your writing, and am particularly fond of Firefly Lane, True Colors, and Winter Garden. Will any of these titles ever appear on the big screen?
Oh my god if i saw Winter Garden on the big screen i would melt into a puddle on the floor. Somebody would have to peel me up. lol. That book is so intense. Now MAGIC HOUR would cause a lot of talk on the big screen. In fact Magic hour could potentially be a good sequel. To watch the little girl grow up and go through life with her past. In her teenage years kids would probably mock and make fun of her. She would have to focus on grammar and education and becoming a part of the "normal society." Maybe about her falling in love and the hardships it brings because her past will not let her to love completely or to trust..perhaps something from her past can resurface and haunt her again..
I think you should write a sequel to Night Road, maybe like write about Zach, Lexi, and Grace's life together. Write about Grace's teenage life and what she goes through!!

Hi Gina---I'm so glad you liked the connection between Distant shores and Between Sisters. Three other books that are very loosely connected are Angel Falls and Home Again. Also, Magic Hour and On Mystic Lake kind of take place in the same area. Enjoy! (Sorry you didn't get any KH deals at borders---bummer!)

I'll keep that in mind, Emily. I'm still too close to Night Road to think about going back to it. :)

I would love to see Firefly Lane on the big screen. I think that Claire Danes or Teri Polo would be an excellent Kate, and either Rachel McAdams or Emily Blunt as Tully, and Ben Affleck as Johnny.

And I think this would make an awesome movie!
I would love, love, love to see a sequel to Firefly Lane. I couldn't get enough of that book and its characters!!
I Loved Firefly Lane! I would to read a sequel of this amazing book. I would like to thank Kristin Hannah for writing this book because it strengthend my best friends and my relationship before she left for college and it brought us closer together again so thank you. I would really like to hear the sequel either from Marah's view or even Johnny's that would b really interesting.
I would love a sequel to Firefly Lane or Night road. Winter garden and True Color's ending were very satisfying. Winter Garden didnt leave you with the taste of wanting more because what you had wanted the whole time was for Vera to be reunited with her babies! and then True colors ended PERFECTLY with Dallas coming home and Noah finally feeling complete and content with himeself. But Night road slightly gave you a cliff hanger with regard to Lexi and Zach. You knew she was welcomed back but what next? Did she have a good relationship with grace and did her relationship stay bitter with Jude or did Jude finally forgive? and with Firefly lane the ending was unbearable.. I wanted to know what happened to Tully after Kates funeral.. did she replace the 'mother' role of Kate? Did johnny ever go after Tully after Kate died? ugh, so many questions unanswered! Im sure you can understand my frustration here hehe:)

I have to say I haven't cried while reading a book in a long time...but this one got to me. I would love a sequel to it, at the end it seems like everything will be good going forward - however I would like to see more of how Lexi and Jude resolve their differences, and how Grace adapts to having a mother present.
Now I have to find something else to read....but I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to the people in Night Road...
I would love a sequal to Night Road- I absolutly LOVED the book. I felt like Night Road left some unanswered questions for me, I am so invested in Zach and Lexi's relationship as well as Jude and Lexi's and I wish you would write more telling us how life is now that they except Lexi, do her and Jude have a good freindship, how is Gracie doing with her mom around ? and show is there life together as a family. I feel like I can't let go of the charector's because I don't have closure.. Please think of doing a sequal to Night Road
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a sequel to Magic Hour! It is my all time favorite book, and was so sad when it ended!
I also must add that seeing Magic Hour on the big screen, or even on the small screen as a tv show, would be the most amazing thing I have ever watched. I'm not sure what I would do with myself if I found out it was going to be made, my goodness!
I think you should really consider a sequel to night road. The book left me wanting so much more from these characters and I wasn't quite ready to say goodbye. My next read is Fly Away, I was thrilled to see the sequel to firefly lame. It is so far one of my favorites of yours.
when i finished Night Road on Saturday night, I talked about it all night long (poor husband) then read it again on Sunday. It was THAT good! I was soo not ready to say goodbye to Lizzy, Zach, and Gracie. Totally fine saying goodbye to Jude though - I'm so mad at her!! I would be first in line to read a sequel or watch a movie with these characters...
I just finished Night Road and was sad to see it end - I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see a sequel made! I just started reading Kristin Hannah (Firefly lane was the first book I read) I definately plan on reading more of her books!
Please, Please, Please write a sequel to Night Road... I am dying to know what the characters are up to...
I would LOVE to see a On Mystic Lake continuation! I fell in love with the WHOLE story! At the end I was like, " NOOOOO.. what happened when she got back to Nic.... was Izzy super excited and what about the BABY! Did her ex stay out of the babies life.. there are SOOO many ways this could go! <3 <3 your writing!
