Leea Anyone watch the show Shameless on Showtime? This show is crazy and i cannot look away... It's the crazies show i have ever watched. It's a total guilty pleasure :)

William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum are in it and they are amazing!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I love Emmy Rossum, but haven't seen it, no. :(

Leea This show pushes the line every time... Crap man!!! No one else watches this show? Lol!!

Anyone watch Big Love?? It's the last season, and so much is happening to this family.

message 4: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I don't have showtime, unfortunately.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) We don't have HBO anymore, so we're always a season behind on Big Love, but it's one of my favorite shows! They don't release them on DVD til more than 6 months after the season ends, which is a bummer because by the time we get them, there's no one left to talk about it with.

message 6: by Leea (new)

Leea I just watched the final episode and it was crazy... I freaking cried... yeah we all know what a lame-o I can be. Ha! I totally understand not having HBO. We get it for free - my husband is in Sales and that man can get anything for free, it's crazy!

message 7: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 21, 2011 10:04PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Free is good! It just seems so not worth it to pay for the service just to get a couple of t.v. shows. The movies aren't worth it anymore when you can get all the instant queue stuff with Netflix.

The only downfall is having to watch the shows I do like way after the fact. I'm interested in the new King Arthur show and Game of Thrones (not sure if both are on HBO, but you know what I mean), but I hate to pay money just to watch those.

I'm still catching up on TrueBlood by streaming it online. I just don't like to watch much t.v. on the computer, so I watch an episode every couple of weeks.

message 8: by Leea (new)

Leea I don't really watch that much and I just found out that my husband canceled netflix on demand - why? I guess I was not watching it - kind of funny because now I want to. LOL!! We always have great books to read :)

message 9: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments No Netflix? Ya I'd cringe a bit. We don't seem to watch A LOT of Netflix, but I like having it when I do want to watch something.
Starz through Netflix is how we watched Spartacus and now Camelot.
Don't have HBO so wondering how I'm gonna catch Game of Thrones!!?? So looking forward to that.
Big Love?? Have to look it up!!

Guess when it comes to catching the shows we really want to, where there's a will, there's a way!!

message 10: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments Is anyone watching "Pretty Little Liars"? When the first season started my daughter starting reading the book series and loved it. Talk about drama though. Just from what she shares with me, the book series has to be one of the craziest soap opera of a story I have ever encountered. Lots of characters and drama, drama.

message 11: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I used to have Netflix and then canceled it. I just use my On Demand section, since I usually didn't watch any tv shows or streamed anything straight to my tv. I watch True Blood on HBO, and I'm interested in Game of Thrones, but I really need to read the books first.

(The HBO movies aren't great, but I like having the section for movies for my daughter.)

message 12: by Leea (new)

Leea No HBO movies are not great at all. They do have good mini-series and great HBO made movies. We have At & t, the on demand feature saves me all the time with the kids.

I'm so not into teen drama... so the Pretty Little Liars show sounds horrible :)

I think the Game of Thrones show will be good. I hope i get to read the book first... so many books to read and so little time hehe!!

Ladyhawk | 381 comments so many books to read and so little time hehe!

You're tellin' me! PLL, well it's just another YA to consider. It's a show for my teen daughter and I to enjoy, It does get a little racy sometimes and I definitely have to put my two cents in, but we look forward to it every week. Same with Vamp Diaries. Love the cliff hangers at the end of the episodes in both series. Sometime I just have to chuckle and shake my head, they are so tormenting, in a teasing kinda way!

message 14: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 22, 2011 01:43PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I've never seen PLL, so I have no idea if it's any good or not.

I do watch Vampire Diaries though and had no intention of even watching that one until I got tired of people having conversations about it on GR and I didn't know what they were talking about, so I started watching some of the episodes online to get caught up and ended up really enjoying the show. That is one book series that I never plan on reading though. I hear the books are terrible.

My husband is funny because he used to make fun of me for watching Vampire Diaries. Now he asks me when the next episode of TVD is coming on so we can watch it. He actually seemed a bit bummed when it went on hiatus until April.

He'll still roll his eyes a bit at the sappiness of Stefan and Elena, but he likes Damon. He likes scenes like the ones where Damon reaches in and pulls someone's heart out of their chest.

This show is so good. I love the complexity of this huge polygamist family. I seriously want to smack the husband almost every episode though. He makes the stupidest decisions. It's no wonder I was hoping every single one of his wives would leave him.

No clue if they have the first season on the instant queue, but they do have the disks for sure.

message 16: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I love Vampire Diaries, but I'm about 3 episodes behind. Maybe I'll catch up today. Damon makes the show, in my opinion. He plays a vulnerable evil so deliciously.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) He's so good looking, but when he opens his eyes wide so you can see the whites of his eyes, it bugs me for some reason. Maybe because he does it a lot. It's almost like a nervous twitch, except he's not nervous.

message 18: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) the best part is that I can picture that look exactly. It's like his token 'I'm being dastardly' look.

Every time I see him now I think about the Dreamy Eyed Guy.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) He is the perfect fit for the DEG.

message 20: by Leea (new)

Leea Love Vampire Diaries... He would be perfect for Dreamy eyed guy for sure ;)

Stacia my husband rolls his eyes to... but it's my guilty pleasure.

message 21: by Leea (new)

Leea I'm watching the season finale of shameless - if you thought this show pushed the boundaries before... nothing baby. It's crazy and I love every minute of it!

Ladyhawk | 381 comments I love the complexity of this huge polygamist family
Ok, yes, I've heard of it! No! I will not be watching it! The thought of a polygamist family, to me, is just absurd. Why does a man get to have multiple wives? Can a woman have more than one husband? Or is that just gross?

He plays a vulnerable evil so deliciously.

Oh so very well said!! And I agree his little body movements are his signature! Part of what makes him so sexy!!
Still haven't looked up shameless. May be a good bedtime watch for me and the dh.

message 23: by Leea (new)

Leea That show pushes the limit! Watch with caution...

message 24: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments Worse than Spartacus??

message 25: by Leea (new)

Leea Well it involves children... so yeah! It's a family where the father is a drunk, mother left them and now the sister (22?) is taking care of them. She is their sole support and so much happens. They take a possible depressing setting and turn up the humor. Although, so parts push the limit for sure. It's kind of like a car wreck you can't look away from.

Spartacus has crazy sex scenes... Shameless does as well.

Here is the Showtime page... Check it out!!

Leea I watched it this season and LOVED it. I so hope the do a 2nd season.. Seems like no one I know watched it. I am in love with Philip!!! William H Macy is a God!!! He plays the Best Damn Drunk ever!

Best show on TV!

message 30: by Leea (new)

Leea Ha! So glad you like it! I flipping love it and I agree that William H. Macy is amazing in this show. It's so realistic that it sometimes hurts to watch them all go through so much. So much needs to be answered, they better have another season.

It is coming back for another season in US, I think they won't air until winter 2012.

message 36: by Leea (new)

Leea Oh okay, thanks Kelly. It's such a crazy show, like a train wreck you cannot look away.
