can we have a homework topic thing. I know it's a bit, or very, off topic, but sometimes I need help...
So I made a "Graceling *SPOILERS*" thread (http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/5...).How do you guys think we should manage it? We should probably wait for everyone to finish reading it (so they don't miss out on discussion), but maybe it could be for our initial thoughts?
Also, are we going to divide the book into its three parts and discuss each individually, or the book as a whole?
What level of analysis are we going to be delving into here? Personally, I revel in analyzing the heck out of things, whether they're novels, movies, or real life situations.
I made this group as a discussion group where members can say whether they loved it, hated it, liked it, etc. I agree that you are over thinking it a little. Basically, I think we are going to read a book every month that must be finished by the fifteenth of that month. On the fifteenth, we will create a group discussion where we may include spoilers. That is all I am thinking. Simple.
Oh, all right, I guess I misinterpeted the intents of the group. I think I may have been basing my perception of this forum on my experience with other book groups.Anyway, I'm not trying to change the purpose of this gorup, but maybe it isn't what I was looking for.
Maybe. Sorry to disappoint but I am not a very analytic person (does that make sense?) ... You can always start a folder for analyzing books and put other discussion in there. Let me try and answer all you questions."How do you guys think we should manage it? We should probably wait for everyone to finish reading it (so they don't miss out on discussion), but maybe it could be for our initial thoughts?"
We can post initial thoughts b4 the due date. At the due date we can post spoilers.
"Also, are we going to divide the book into its three parts and discuss each individually, or the book as a whole?"
If the book has a part 1, 2, 3, etc, we can divide it into parts and have like a due date for each segment to be read. Then we can post spoilers on the book that far in an effort to avoid making many discussions. If the book is a continuous story, the book as a whole.
"What level of analysis are we going to be delving into here? Personally, I revel in analyzing the heck out of things, whether they're novels, movies, or real life situations."
You can always analyze the books but I don't want to make it a requirement if a member wants to read it normally.
Yes sorry I have been traveling. First time I can come on groups ...Btw I am on an iPad! So awesome!
