Honey Hawthorne If you are having trouble with any homework assignments, come here for help.

message 2: by Katerina (new)

Katerina (klymene) Yay! I love this topic already!

Honey Hawthorne Haha. Just don't cheat like ask someone else to do your homework for you.

This would make a nice group on its own.... One subject would be math, another english, maybe history...

message 4: by Katerina (new)

Katerina (klymene) I tried to find one, no success

Honey Hawthorne We should make one......

Like call it SUPER TUTORS!!

Honey Hawthorne Lol..

message 7: by Katerina (new)

Katerina (klymene) to tutor, or for help?

Honey Hawthorne Well one subject would be like Tutor or Student? and people would sign up to be tutors or students.......

message 9: by Katerina (new)

Katerina (klymene) create the group then

Honey Hawthorne maybe i will later...

AJ Really, there isn't already a group like that on Goodreads?

Weird.

Anyway, I actually tutor people in real life (for free). If you guys ever need any help with something, I might have already done it in a previous grade and could help.

Katerina (klymene) help me!!! Enthalpies of Reaction!!!

message 13: by AJ (new)

AJ So you're calculating the different enthalpies of reactions?

Is this for chemistry, phsyics, or biology (or some variation of the three)?

message 14: by Katerina (new)

Katerina (klymene) Chemistry, I think I'll just give you the actual problem.

The COmbustion of .4196 g of a hydrocarbon releases 17.55 kilojoules of heat. The masses of the products are CO2=1.419g and H2O=.290g. What is the empirical formula of this compound?
If the approximate molar mass of the compound is 76 grams, calculate its standard enthalpy of formation.
Define:enthalpy of combustion
and Enthalpy of formation.

I determined the empirical formula to be CH4 (Methane) but I'm never really sure how to do those.

Honey Hawthorne I tutor one girl in French and Social Studies.....

I can't answer that question because I don't take chem.

I am sooooooooooo confused at what you just wrote.

And if you have questions for English class, I am very good in English.

Sorry about that, I actually fell asleep, I was exhausted (I fell asleep at 4, slept till 8, and I'm still tired).

Hmm, we never called those enthalpies, I think we called them empirical formulas. It's been so long since we did them, I'm afraid I've forgotten (sorry).

Unfortunately, I mainly tutor English, History, and Math (the first two are kind of weird to teach someone).

message 21: by Katerina (new)

Katerina (klymene) Hope you slept well! It's alright that you forgot. My teacher just explained it today and it doesn't count for a grade(anymore).

message 22: by AJ (new)

AJ You still have school?

Don't you guys get March break, or is it later on?

message 23: by Katerina (new)

Katerina (klymene) Next week! yay! I'll be sleeping alot. and Pretending I have alot of homework so I can go on goodreads

Honey Hawthorne YAY I have it next week 2. Which reminds me..I won't be online next week.

Honey Hawthorne Awwwww... I may be able to check it late at night or something and put the occasional post.. I just hope arena 3 doesn't start while im gone...

message 31: by Katerina (new)

Katerina (klymene) Double posts? Will there be computer's where you'll be staying?

Honey Hawthorne Oh whoopsies. That was an accident.....I will fix that!!! Sometimes when it takes a long time to post i click the post button multiple times and it posts twice.....Usually I catch it and erase the second one...

I'm gonna bring my laptop but I won't have much time to be online....

Katerina (klymene) When you are filling out an NHS form (National Honor Society), and they ask WHY you want to join, what do you answer? How would you say it so that you do get into NHS?

Honey Hawthorne I am not sure this will be of help now because I am like a month late but I would say something like you'd love to be able to be ranked among the outstanding members and have the honor of being a part of such a prestigious group. Great learning experience, etc.

When they ask questions like that i think it is usually because they want to see not really why you want to join, but how you express your feeling about it or something like that.

EX: For applying to a school it would be like:

I'd love to join ____ because I want to meet children of new cultures at your international school and I'd love the honor of studying in such an academically challenging environment.

IDRK cause I am not applying to a school so I don't know anything about the system at my imaginary school.

GOOD LUCK!
