Ok, so this might be a bit biased as I've only read the first book I've read in this series. But in saying that I gave a second AND Third chance...
I found Harry potter and the philosophers stone badly written, I understand it is a story for teens or whatever but at the same time I read the book when I was 13 then 14 then 17 and each time I just didn't get what all the hype was about.
I thought there were some fun ideas about how a school for witches and wizards might be and what that kind of land might be like, but I just found the writing dull.
