Kate | 1 comments It's said that people can remove these anyway, and at present obscurity is a bigger problem than piracy. Am I therefore best going for DRM-free on Kindle? Smashwords is DRM-free anyway and I have several books up there?

Thanks!

Amethyst Marie (amethystmarie) | 1 comments I went DRM-free on both Kindle and Nook. DRM doesn't really stop pirating, it just makes it harder for the average non-pirating, non-techie customer to protect their purchases. Tor Books now publishes all their ebooks DRM-free. John Scalzi, Tor author and president of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, has spoken out against DRM for years.
