American Idol
You picked all my favs, Pamela.Scotty doesn't do much for me, although he can nail those Josh Turner songs!
I like Scottie but I don't see him winning. He's not in my top 4 or 5 list but maybe 6 or 7. I like Thia too but I don't think she is ready yet. She needs to grow.
Who do you think will be the next to go?Who's the kid who sang "If You Don't Know Me By Now"? I think he's good too.
What do you think of Casey?
If Hailey or Thia doesn't pick up the pace then I think one of them...Stefano sang that. I like him too.
I'm not into Casey and his music choices but ppl seem to like him.
That's it--Stefano--my dark horse choice.I think Thia has a sweet voice but the judges seem to want more from her.
Casey's voice doesn't impress me that much. I think the judges (and the audience) like his fearless personality.
I think that girl that Steven Tyler picked as his wild card will go next--the one that murdered "What's Love Got To Do With It"...:)
I don't watch AI. I tried back when the show was new, but I got so sick of the horrible stuff in the beginning and I can't just sit and laugh at people making fools of themselves. Then, I started waiting until only the good ones were left, and then I still didn't like it. LOL
Auntee, the song What's Love got to do with it is sort of my hubby and my song. When I first met him I got the cassette and used to play it over and over. I'd just got "dumped" before I met him and it had become my theme song and hubby changed my mind. And, yes, she murdered it. Naima is her name.Sorry you don't like it, Dhestiny. They have some of the most talented this year.
Oh wow, Pamela, now there's a story to go with the song! I'll bet that song brings back memories every time you hear it--must've been painful to hear Naima murder it.:) I swear other Idol contestants have tried to sing that song and it never sounds right...
Still love my original picks. I'm thinking either Thia or Haley will go home tonight. But they all had pretty decent performances last night so who knows...
I only saw the second half of the show and nobody I saw was awful. Although I'm getting a little tired of Paul.
Well, that was a surprise. I'm not a Casey fan but I didn't forsee him leaving. But he's not leaving... The judges really love him.
I think he'll leave eventually. I don't think the people voting (young teens) are that thrilled with him. I think it'll be a battle between Pia, Scotty, Jacob, and James.
Casey got the lowest amount of votes and was supposed to go home, but the judges voted him to stay. He was shocked out of his mind! He definitely is one of the judges favorites.
Personally I like Scotty and James, Lauren. Stefano.
I don't care for Paul and Thia and Haley and Niama. I was surprised Haley didn't go, I don't think she can sing at all.

Still not wow'd over Casey but we'll see if he stays this week. Not able to guess the eliminations for tonight. My top 2 are Pia and James. My bottom 2 are Casey and Naima. With Haley 3rd from bottom.
I think Thia may be in trouble too.To me there's no clear front runner or no obvious person to get rid of.
I'm still waiting for Jacob to get control of that big voice--I think he has so much potential but everything he sings takes on a gospel flavor.I think Pia has a great voice but to me she's kind of a boring performer. I thought she said she was going to do something upbeat this week?
That was probably the best Casey has sounded in weeks. And the haircut and the beard trim was an improvement.:)
James is good too and seems right at home on stage. Sort of Adam Lambert-like but maybe with not as good a voice?
Paul still irritates me.:) Can't imagine him winning. That voice only works on certain songs.
Naima is more entertainer than singer.
Haley did pretty good with "Benny and the Jets" but I don't think she has a lot of fans.
I think JLo likes Stefano because he sounds a bit like her husband.:)
I used to think Lauren had a good shot but so far she's underwhelmed me--although she was good last night.
I think the judges are least impressed by Thia.
Well, Goodbye to Naima and Thia. I do think they were 2 of the weaker singers but I did like them. I like Paul's voice but my hubby doesn't. I don't think he'll last much longer.
I loved Paul's voice when he dueted on that Beatles song. But his voice is so unique that I don't think it works on every song. I kinda think his days are numbered too.
Yes, Auntee, I know what you mean. But I have really liked most of what he has done. Both my mom and daughter are on Scottie's team. I like him too but I think he is stuck singing one genre and it could hurt him in the competition. But my tops are Pia and James. Hard to pick a fave of the 2.
For me it's still early. I need to hear more. I want to see how Pia does with an up-tempo song. James does have a good voice too.
I only saw the last 3.:(I though Pia did really great.
Saw the little recap at the end, trying to imagine who I could see actually winning.
I think it will come down to Pia, James, and Scotty.
My top 2 are still Pia and James but truly they are all so talented that its hard to choose. Probably my least faves of those who are left are Casey and Paul.
Can't imagine Casey winning. Or Paul--too quirky.I agree, it's hard to choose because they all have talent (unlike some other seasons when it was obvious who had to go). It's just a matter of who the voting public likes.
And no one seems to be head and shoulders above the others. It should be interesting. If Pia could show a little more stage presence or personality, she could walk away with it. I think James has her beat on stage presence.
Yes, I agree about that. James has great stage presence. I loved his performance last night. There is so much talent this year. Past years it was easier to pick who should go or stay.
Well she got ripped off. Just shows who's voting--young teenage girls.:(They should've saved that "judges save".
What about the performances during the elimination show? Constantine was fine but Izzy Pop was offensive to me.
I think they all did pretty good. Still not a fan of Casey. Haley might be in danger but I liked her. I'm not a fan of heavy metal and I do wonder if that may have hurt James but I think he did good job.
Pamela(AllHoney) wrote: "I liked Paul. He's unique. But I guess it was his time."I agree Pam, his time to go but I did enjoy his voice and entertaining stage presence.
Hmmm, I guess I expected Stephano to leave. A little surprised about Jacob in bottom 3 but it's getting closer to the end and only one wins the show. My bet is still on James. Although, it seems that the judges want Casey to win. It's really anyone's game.
Now that Pia's gone, I have no idea who will win. The judges do seem to be gaga over Casey, but I just can't see him winning. Darn if I know who the front runner is...
I think Jacob is a bit of a weird one to peg. Tends to send somewhat gospel/morally straight songs but he seems to definitely bat for the other team (or is at least very feminine in her persona). I have wondered how that would play with middle America but somehow they are still buying it. I'm a little disappointed Scotty or Lauren didn't get a bit of a shoulder shake but being in the bottom. Both seem complacent in what they are doing. Love Stephano, he was amazingly gracious and cute in his exit. I think Haley could do well with Carole King but I don't know if that will be enough to save her. I think Jacob and Scotty have the biggest hills to climb next week. Interested to see what James will do.
I was a bit nervous for Scottie when they did Viva la Vida. I didn't think he'd be able to pull it off. He's so country. But I thought he did great and didn't hear the country in the song at all.I believe it was mention in one episode that Jacob has strong moral convictions. He does seem feminine at times but he's seems so sweet and lovable. I think most of America sees that and loves him back.
I think with the right producer Jacob could be awesome--lots of untapped potential there--his voice is very melodic. His voice reminds me of the soul singers from the 70s. Sometimes he gets a little out of control and seems to have some pitch problems, but that could all be fixed up in the recording studio. Don't know about him as a 'performer' though. And is my imagination, or does he tend to 'lecture' a bit?

I think they have some of the best singers this season. I have a few that I like and believe will do well. My current faves are James, Pia, Lauren, Paul and Jacob.
My 10 yr old daughter is crushing on Scottie.
