Fox trotted along the forest, full after just eating a delicious shrew.

Star sat in a tree, asleep.

He saw a cat snoozing away in a tree. I should play the meanest trick on her. Fox grinned, and quietly climbed up the tree. From there, he inched toward the she-cat, and yowled loudly.

She jumped up with her eyes wide and nearly fell off the tree.

Fox laughed wildly, "You should have seen the look on your face! Woo hoo, I'm sorry, I couldn't help it. Anyways, let me introduce myself. I'm Fox."

Star steaded herself and giggled,"I probably was funny, I'm Star."

Now Fox almost fell out of the tree. "Wow. Most everybody I do that to immedianly hates me. And nice to meet you."

She laughed,"It's nice to meet you to."

((*sob*))

"You know, from the moment when you admitted that you looked funny," Fox smirked, "I knew you were different. I thought, 'Wow, that wasn't what I expected.'"

she laughed nervousely,"Yah, i know."

"Well keep on being different. That's what cats like about you." Fox meowed.

She smiled,'Really, or is it what YOU like about me?" she asked.

"Well, I'm sure a lot of cats would like it that you don't react badly to a good joke." Fox grinned.

She laughed,'Yah, a lot get annoyed..."

"I once met this one she-cat, and when I played the same trick on her that I did to you, she scratched my nose and it was swelled up for a week."

She kept herself from laughing.

Fox grinned, "Go ahead, I can see you want to laugh."

She smiled and started to laugh loudly.

Fox laughed along with her, remembering that day so vividly.

"Bet you diservered it." she giggled.

"Maybe, but she obviously didn't have a sense of humor. Like me." He smirked.

She laughed and jumped from the branch and landed on the ground.

Fox smiled. I think I may have this one. He scurried down the tree.

Star sat waiting for him with a pleasant smile on her face.

"So, how come you haven't run off yet?" Fox joked.

"Because i haven't found resone to." she said smiling. am i falling for him?,/i>

"Well then, you're the first. Except for..." Fox trailed off, remembering his best friend when he was in a cat Clan.

"Except for who?" she asked standing up.

"My...best friend. Before he died." Fox flattened his ears in the memory.

"Sorry...." she said.

"It's okay. Memories don't fade easily," Fox said.

"No they don't.." she sighed.

He smiled, "But, what's past is past. Where I used to be, you know, in the cat Clans, they tought me there was a cat heaven called StarClan. I believe it, but I also beleive that only Clan cats go there. It's intresting, how the way cats groups work differently then us 'roughes'." Fox spat the word out of his mouth, he never liked the term cats used for creatures like him and Star.

"I've been chased out a few times by them." star said.

"Yeah, I have too, some even attack me, even when I'm running out." Fox sighed.

'Why did you leave them?" she asked.

"I...well...that'll...umm...have to wait for another day..." Fox said, nervous.

"ok." she nodded.

He almost fell with relief. Now is not time. Not yet.

She giggled and smiled at him.

He tilted his head, "What?"

"Oh nothing." she said.

He shrugged.

(can cats shrug?)

"You know that my mothers brother was a clan cat." she said.

"No, I didn't. What Clan?" Fox asked, wondering if it was ThunderClan.

She thought,"Shadow..... i think."
