My wife recommended this book to me long ago. Just this year did I finally get around to reading it. i agree that this is one of Grisham's better books. The greedy heirs are portrayed somewhat cartoonishly, but this is more than compensated for with the parallel story in the rain forest. I appreciated Grisham's insights into the tough life of a missionary. When he touched on various aspects of the Gospel message,he was spot on. The ending, though sad, was absolutely the perfect ending to the story. Well done. I would put The Testament up there with the Firm, The Runaway Jury and The Partner, all of them excellent Grisham thrillers.

Boitumelo Matolong One of the best books I've read. just kept turning the pages...

Deana M this was one of my favorite Grisham books. I loved the plot.

Chuck Manson I read this book at a time that some of my life could be seen in Nate O'Riley's. For me, that part of the story really touched me deeply.
Yeah, the Phelan family and hangers-on were certainly not the most original cast of character but I sped past those to get into the Amazon and the moral struggles of Nate.
By the end of the book, I wanted to find that Maryland town and settle down myself

Julie Large I haven't read it in a long time, but I thought that one was really special.

Ehlgee John Grisham on this book indeed has an effortless but strong story frame which despite of my hectic schedule those times (cos its around-the-end of school year) I can't help but still turn out the pages than meeting the deadlines of my school works.lol. But, at some point, I find this book 'fun' as in comedy in some way like on the first chapter as I know everyone didn't expect that kind of beginning.

Donna One of my favourite John Grisham novels! I thought it was a very clever storyline, exploring dysfunctional families, sibling rivalry, father and son relationships plus the mystery of where Dad's money came from. Kept me hooked from beginning to end.

Jackie It has been quite a while since reading this book, I loved it. Hard to put down.
