I got the catalog today and find myself a little puzzled that renewal of membership is being solicited so soon on the heels of my having joined (which was late spring). (Are we members for twelve months from the time we sign on...? I thought so, but...) At any rate. I don't know that a renewal will be in the cards for me, as I expect to have the membership through next spring and may be able to score all I'm bursting to score by then. However, if Possession were to fail to squeak in under the wire, a renewal might be in order. The only two Folio titles I'm splitting to own at the moment are it (I've read it twice, Eoghan - it's a wonderful book), which my head spun to see in the catalog, and The Victorians. But who ever knows? I do really like the looks of Tom Jones. And I have to get some of that Darwin for my brother...

So I finally figured out how to get my Folio editions onto the group's shelves and have added one. Will add more. I was wondering - do either of you have a link to a list online of all the title Folio has published over the years. I realize it's out there in book form in the Folio 60 or whatever it is, but I was hoping for something immediate and shorthand...
So, no matter when I joined, membership expires in October? I thought it would be that joining in, say, April 2008 would mean one was a member through April 2009...is that not the case?As to getting the books onto our shelves, the only way I could figure how to do it was with the separate editions librarian function, removing the Folio edition from the other 104 editions of The Woman in White, so it would show up in the basic search, add it, then re-combine it with the other editions to get it back to where it had been...does that make sense? It was a pain, but it worked...
I suppose I'll re-up the membership once more then. I can get The Victorians and Possession as part of the renewal, and my family is going to split the cost with my wife and I on a Darwin volume for my brother...so that's three. Will have to peruse the possibilities for another. And that free book on Venice is perfect - will be giving that to my mother-in-law (a former college art instructor who nurtures an obsession with Venice like none other). How long have you been with Folio?
On one occasion, it took quite some time before it registered in the search...the second time I did it, I think. I waited til the next day.
Hi all,I want to join the membership, but none of the "introductory" offer books are catching my fancy. Do they ever change the books available for the introductory offer?
I'm another Folio addict! I usually read the Librarything forum, but I prefer Goodreads to catalogue my books. Although it is a shame about the lack of Folio editions listed :(
That's a great idea, thanks. I have tried to add some editions where I can't find the Folio one, but I don't think I've got the technique right.
Why should I join the Folio Society? I collect antique and vintage illustrated books but these are undeniably lovely. Can someone assist? I an not cautious in life only in books.
Well… noþing vintage or antique at Folio. Most is honest, modern fine editions on ðe popular side of it. Ðere are superb facsimile editions ðat can appeal to you if you feel you spend too much on ðe originals.
