Shellbelle Okay so I read all kinds of different types of books, from historical romanance to classics, to popular fiction, to contemporary romance, to biographies ect. ect. ect. But I think my fav has Paranormal Romance!!! Recently I have kind of run out of things to read (I can be very picky, and wont read it unless it's well written and I like the charachters), so I'm wanting to branch out into Urban Fantasy. I have only read a few things from that genre, most recently the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning. I would prefer for there to be some romance, even if it's eventual, and takes it's own sweet time getting their like in the Fever series. I also don't love when they change lovers (I hate that word, don't know why LOL)every 5 sec, like in the Sookie books, but I guess if it's well written and creative I can read anything...

So here's where you come in! I mean that's what this group is all about right? Helping to find new series? So let me have it, let me know about some great UF series!!!

I have been recently looking at
Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs series and the
Dead Witch Walking (Rachel Morgan/The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison series

Any thoughts??
Thanks :)

Patricia Briggs is a really good Author- I really like that series you have- Moon Called.
I haven't read "Dead Witch walking" but I've heard mixed reviews. If you want something that is fool-proof, I suggest Patricia Briggs.

Bluegravity (erlknig) | 4 comments A couple really good series are-

Rachel Caine, The moraganville vampires

P.C. Cast, Marked

Gena Showalter, Intertwined

For starters- Those ones, aside from Briggs, I can guarantee if one likes vamps, werewolves, powers, abilites, etc. books, you'll like these.

Shellbelle Thanks for the help! I love everything Gena Showalter, but I havn't got around to the YA series yet, but it's in my TBR, and I have it listed for a challenge i'm doig, so glad to hear it's good! As for the P.C.Cast series I am on book 6 i think, and I'm done with it:( it just got silly to me, but the first one were so good! Also I keep hearing great things about Rachel Caine, so I'm going to def. give her a try!!!! But I think I will start with Briggs:)

Cheryl aka Pashion (ExRockGoddess) | 7 comments Shellbelle ... Awakened by PC Cast is one of the better books, but I agree around book 6-7 it becomes a soap opera instead of a book. It is fine to have a cliff hanger at the end, but pleeease tell a story within that book!

Shellbelle Your not the first to tell me that Awakened was really good, I just don't know if I can get thru the other two... maybe when I run out of other things to read:) Do you know how many is supposed to be in the series? I noticed there was up to #10 on GR is that where it will end?

There is supposed to be 12 thats what her contract is right now!

Cheryl aka Pashion (ExRockGoddess) | 7 comments Yeah but they have already branched off and her daughter Kristin is releasing Dragon's story as a sub-series this summer.

Shellbelle Does Kristin Cast write on her own, I know P.C. does, and have you guys ever read anything by either one? Just curious because I really did enjoy the first books in the series, it just seems to be dragged out a bit to long:(

Maximum Ride is good (at least most of the series)
Definitely Anything McCaffrey, though you may want to look at the specific different series she/he has to see which would engage you most!
I'm just finishing "Virals" and it's good, a first from Kathy Reichs....

I think this is Kristin's first book, it does not list her mother as an author.

Maryab Maryab (maryabshire) The Kim Harrison series is great. Unique is a good term to use. I don't think there is a series like hers. Her style is different though. I love the series and highly recommend it.

The Riley Jenson series by keri arthur is very good too!!!

Kim Harrison is very hight up on my TBR list. I think I'm going to try the Patrica Briggs series, and then give Kim Harrison a try.
