I haven't read of any Stephen King's books but I heard it was scary, I read R.L. Stine though. And I heard IT was the most scary SK books eva!

yah! but i wouldnt agree that IT was the most scary book! cuz i think his shining or salem's lot was better than these. but still the quality of King to turn daily life situations into horror is what attracts me. he is the second writer after Khaled Hosseini who has ever had me goosebumps...

I read only one YA series that managed to give me goosebumps, (The Darkest Powers) I'm a huge YA fan, My mum watched Salem Lot and for a horror movie fanatic like her, she said Salem Lot is scary. HA!

So Prerak, are you into horror stories too?

Am i into Horror Stories too??? Natshane, i am basically a horror writer only...or rather to say, i am addicted to them.
U know, i started to write when i was eleven...and the first story i wrote was a horror story, named The Undistinguished. Then i wrote my first novel at age of 13, again a horror novel...Into the Shadows of Darkness...then i wrote over 15 short stories, almost all of them scary in one way or the other...............A
Actually the truth is...when i write stories, i write Horror or Dark or Extremely Sensitive Stories with a heavy atmosphere that depresses and in the end there is a hope for life.
when i write poems, they are inspiring and sarcastic even, but still have a hope for light...thats y many of my friends call me SUNSHINE

@ Natshane, what kinda books or stories or poems do you prefer to write?

Wow, that's a great insight to what kind of books you like. I'm not much of a horror story writer however I enjoy reading suspenseful stories, I prefer to watch horror movies because it's scarier, giving the virtual image and not imaginary. Nevertheless, I had never found a book that made me shriek or shuddered violently, mildly yes but not the ones which made me scream my lungs out (as I did with movies).

I'm more of a paranormal romance writer, with a bit of the dark, brooding edge, I tried writing something close to horror but it was lack of something, something that I can't pinpoint out. Expression? Description? Haha. As for poems, my theme centers around life and death, the pieces that I wrote would always centered around the cruelty of mankind, or the emotions in one self.

Oh my gosh!!! I LOVE The Darkest Power trilogy!!!!! I read them like last year or something like that. I love Derek!! And Chloe, But Chloe doesn't have much backbone in my opinion, and she needs more of it. And I love Liz and Tori!!

Me too! I love Derek! He's like, innocent but strong! And Tori reminded me of Aphrodite from HON.

bEX, I JUST read the review of The Mortal Instruments, and it says its not horror...its more of paranormal stuff and all that! Horror would be...IT, Salem's Lot, Shining, etc etc

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah okay that is what I thought, but I was quite sure. Thanks! :)
