Laura Lulu, you took the words out of my mouth, literaly. LOL. I was getting ready to post the following:Danville, Illinois
1. 1:30 p.m. Friday. 36 F. Technically Spring, but more like mid-February per Jennifer Ketchmark & Robert Reese on news.
2. I spy ... brown trees with absolutely no buds yet and a hideous blue house with purple and lavendar gingerbread trim on the screen door and shutters. Seriously, its across the street from my work window and for some reason I always think of Hansel and Gretel -- of course that could have more to do with the cutesy cutouts. Appologizing in advance for offending any SOS members out there with a blue, lavendar and purple houses decorated with gingerbread trim and cutesy cutouts.
Ostrava, Czech Republic1- 9:40 pm Friday, early spring (no leaves on trees yet), 10°C.

Charlotte, North Carolina1. 6:43 pm, early spring, 61°F
2. I'd actually have to get up to see what's out my window & that's a hell no, but I imagine I'd see trees, birds & the neighborhood kids playing kickball. Ah, life. Wonderful.
San Jose, California1. 4:39 p.m., an unseasonably cool 52°F/Spring
2. I spy with my little eye a flowering vine on a redwood fence and the side of the house next door. It's a stereotypical California neighborhood with stucco, mission-style houses built on top of each other. Even the occasional palm tree. The only thing that's missing right now is the sunshine.
Budapest, Hungary1. 8:56 am (this is as long as I could get my kids to let me "sleep"! I've been awake (thanks kids) since 6am But I have my coffee, so relax, no one will get hurt ;-)and the temperature is 51 °F
2. I spy with my little eye, tall trees and pine trees (In Budapest there are two "sides" Buda, which is a little bit outside of the city where is more of a suburb with nature and Pest which is the heart of the city.. I am in Buda. Hence all the trees :) If I go spy out my top window I can look down on Pest. It's a beautiful country.
Ah, sounds nice, Ang. Would love to be able to visit ya'll there. :\ So many places I wish we could travel to visit.
Oulu, Finland1. 13:03 pm Saturday afternoon, - 4 °C partly cloudy spring day
2. A lot of white: Plenty of snow (at least 60 cm) and white houses along our street. Oh... and a lot of blue sky, too! After a long, dark winter I can finally enjoy sunny days like this one! Yay!
Johanna, that's so sad that everythings white & -4C and spring. No wonder you want to split your time between Finland & sunny climes. Glad you can see the light at the end of the winter tunnel :DI'm sitting here at 10pm Sat night in tshirt & shorts and 20C and it's autumn. So happy to be here in Aus, I just couldn't take the cold. I'm a wimp.
True. But, everything covered in snow can be so pretty too. Just a bear to get around in and a tad too cold me. The view though - spectacular. (at least I'd imagine so)
Yes, I guess, if you're looking at it and its all sparkly and you have a glass of whatever you fancy in your hand. LOL. That's always a good excuse!
Steph and Sandra: Thanks for this thread! It's a lot of fun to read everyone's descriptions about their views! Like Steph I try to imagine the scenes from the windows around the world! And yes - snow and sun is a beautiful combination, because everything outside shines! :)
Glad to hear it Johanna! And yes its fun to imagine outside the windows of our members, all except for Judithes' LOL.
Estonia, Tallinn1. its 9:56 pm and the temperature is -3C / Spring
2. There is still too much snow and ice here and windy :S
Boise, ID1. It's about 42F, cloudy (supposed to rain), temp below normal for time of year. It's just after 2pm
2. Sitting at my dining room table, with a cat in my face (on laptop- she likes to be right "there") watching the birds and reading. Tulips are peaking out and should be in bloom sometime this week.
Sydney, Australia1. Sunday, 20C, raining madly, autumn
2. I spy with my little eye trees, houses and the city skyline in the distance
Kerstin, you must be much nearer to the coast than me. Haven't seen a drop of rain last couple of days, still 20C though :)
Lucky you! It sprinkled a little yesterday but since this morning it's pelting down. We are not too far from the coast though, you're right.
I am in Portland, Oregon USA and we have had more rain that ususal. The saying in Oregon is that you rust, not tan. lol
We have had wayyyy more rain than normal for this time of year. I don't think we have had a single day in March that it has not rained some time during the day. It may dry out a bit at the end of next week, but no one will believe it until it happens. lol
Wow, we've had almost the exact opposite. Record dry March until last week when we had all of March's rain in one day, localised flooding, washing away of train tracks etc. It's all good now though.
It rains so much here that it does not flood too often. However, if we get a lot of snow and then it melts too fast some areas areas around Portland flood. It has been a number of years since we had some of the local rivers flooding.
Our flooding was more storm water, I don't think any of our rivers broke their banks. Like I said it was basically all in one day.
At least it didn't stay around for a long time. One day is not too bad, if the flooding didn't do too much damage.
Luckily it was all on the other side of town, say 20 miles at least away, so no damage near me. I don't think the train people were happy, 3 breaks and the largest was about 450 ft long. I think it took them 24 hrs to fix.
Fortunately, my house is not in any danger of getting flooded, which I am grateful for. We have lots of landslides too, where houses slip down the hill. Lots of rain = unstable land. Duh
I'm glad ya'll are enjoying the thread too. So much fun imagining all these spots around the world. Keep 'um coming and feel free to spot again, as your view changes. :)
I'm in Anchorage, Alaska. It's currently 1:25 AM, the temp. is 24F and the season is Breakup.
I spy with my little eye ... snow, night, trees.
I'm in Hollywood, MD.1. It is 8:36 AM, 30F. It's supposed to be early Spring but more like middle of winter. Sky is white and absolutely no wind.
2. I spy with my little eye..I see snow is falling (freaking unbelievable!) on my lawn and my koi pond. It looks to be aobut 1 1/2" on the grass but not sticking (I hope) on the road and walkways. SNOW, GO AWAY !!!!
