Hey Joy, I never heard of the Dorothy Parker mysteries.
I love Parker, along with all the Algonquin Roundtable lore.
Would you recommend these books?
Couldn't help but think of the Parker story when she was commenting on the number of roman a clef plays that based characters on her---:"It's getting so bad that when I write my autobiography I'll be sued for plagiarism!"
Arnie, I haven't yet read the books, but I'm very curious about them and I have them on my Goodreads shelves.Right now I have the following book out from our local library system: Constant Reader. It contains various book reviews written by Dorothy Parker in the New Yorker Magazine in the late 1920s. Her sharp tongue is evident in all the reviews. She sure had a way with words.
One of my favs: "This is not a book that should be lightly tossed aside--it should be thrown with GREAT FORCE!"
