Meh. I read the first one a while ago, so I don't remember a lot, but I remember not enjoying it. It wasn't bad, but it was just very juvenile. I didn't understand a lot of the decisions the lead made which made me dislike her. And even when she was in serious danger she seemed to sort of shrug it off and not take it seriously, so the villians came off as dweepy and laughable than actually life threatening.
some YA lit is for all ages, but I consider this one just for (the younger side of) YA really

I tried this one and didn't get very far before I gave it up. I think this author isn't for me as this was the second book I tried from her and didn't finish either one.
Starting today, is anyone else reading this one sometime (other than the lovely ladies that have already, of course)?

Hmmm...I got 70 pages in and it's just not for me. I have to agree with Zuleika, it was a little too juvenile. Ana tried to come off as witty and sarcastic, but I wasn't feelin' it, especially after finishing a good book like Unearthly. Maybe if I was in another mood it might appeal, I dunno.I don't think I'll try the 2nd one, either after what you said Darcy.
I'm not really digging this book. Something about the writing style isn't working for me. Maybe I'm just not in the mood to read today? I've tried reading City of Fallen Angels and have made it exactly halfway through. The first chapter. But I'm not giving up yet.
