Dear Campers,

All righty, so I think the mods would agree that something big needs to happen. Leading up to the big summer finale that is the epicness of the Trojan War, I think I'm going to set the Hunt for the Basilisk in motion. It will go on until people get fed up with it, or we get the War on. Whichever comes first. Comments? Suggestions? Write them below.

PS- I have also taken the liberty of removing all the old, dusty, grimy flyers and papers tacked up on this board, and have moved them to Archives.

The Hunt for the Basilisk, for the Hunters of Artemis to participate in.

A Basilisk is not the same thing as in Harry Potter. It is, rather, much more like a large, scaly rooster. I'll make a file for it in the 'Beasts of Greek Myth' post.

Gah! I have to convert one of my girls to the hunt, or make a hunt charrie first!

*~Silvypoo~* (Chaser of Artemis) (Silverfur) | 14363 comments LOL.

Oh, do you know when the Hunters will be back, or no?

Yeah, I think I'm going to delete Simyda and make a Huntress. That's really uber annoying since I hate Huntresses. But she'll be an epic hunter. :)

Lightfeather ☼☺♥ (lightfeatherbethany) Yay! Finally a Hunt!

Lightfeather ☼☺♥ (lightfeatherbethany) Eh. Hunters are quite secluded. You have to be one to understand. That's my opinion anyway. =)

There's no point in living without love/lust/desire.

Iunno, IMO they're all just a bunch of. . . *cannot say comment because it is offensive*

Lightfeather ☼☺♥ (lightfeatherbethany) *shrug* Someone has to follow Artemis.

message 17: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
I guess. Or did they? The other gods and goddesses don't have followers (with the exception of Mr. D- Dionysus, but not during camp. ;) )

Lightfeather ☼☺♥ (lightfeatherbethany) Well, the other gods/goddesses can have kids. Artemis can't. Neither can Hera. So they have followers.

Each city state in ancient Greece worshipped a god. Ex: Athens worshipped Athena (Obviously)

They don't have followers like Artemis does, Light.

And Kat, that's not true for every polis.

It's funny how the things the hunters are griping about brought them into this world.

Ahhhheemmm.
Did the males have to go through hours if not close to a day of excruciating labor?
I think not.
Did the males have morning sickness, hormone craves, and a frickin' 12 lb lump on their body for over half a year?
I think not.
The only thing the males had to do in the process was 'do it'. I don't see them complaining about that.

So if you count them griping about males, and you contradict with how generously the other sex offerend their abundant sperm-
I think they win that battle.

With all due respect.

Iviana (The Sign Painter) Mʘ‿ʘP (thesignpainter) | 34142 comments Mod
Ahh, Kat. Ily. But all I was saying was without all of that constant pain and suffering, they wouldn't be alive in the first place, and so if for whatever reason humankind were to vanish, save for the hunters, they would no longer be able to recruit new hunters and they would either grow bored or would die from a monster attack.

message 41: by Kat, Goddess of Dramatic Exits and Strawberry Yogurt (new)

Kat (sugaraddict) | 11750 comments Mod
...Why new recruit if they never die? I'm confused at what you're getting at. They gripe about males, so you're saying without opposite gender there would be no huntresses? Well, true that.

I think they'd rather live like a cheetah. The two genders only meet once a few years to mate, then they go their seperate ways. But since the world is already over populated with humans, they can avoid them all they want.

message 42: by Iviana (The Sign Painter), The Goddess of indecisiveness (new)

Iviana (The Sign Painter) Mʘ‿ʘP (thesignpainter) | 34142 comments Mod
All I'm saying is that they would eventually die out due to an attack or something and that it's a bit ironic how the very thing they're griping about brought them into this world.

But if the world weren't over populated, one of the main goal for humans and animals is to reproduce.

message 43: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
No offense, but I don't think either of you really understand what you're talking about anymore - also this is no place for a debate, so I'll be deleting your posts in a day.

message 44: by Kat, Goddess of Dramatic Exits and Strawberry Yogurt (new)

Kat (sugaraddict) | 11750 comments Mod
Oh. Well, I get your point. But it's not like they're griping about the other gender doing hard work. I'm a virgin, but I think males don't mind reproducing. :P

Kay Whim.

message 45: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
Well, technically, they're supposed to be virgins too ... so they don't know much about the male sex to begin with, let alone find complaints with it. You know?

Thanks, Kat. :)

(S) ummm..? What is the reason for the hunt and when will it really start?

Eve (emusings) Yeah... good question.
