Amanda I like the look of that one Blynnk. Shame I don't have a garden :( I think I could do with some allotment meditation.

Just a reminder, could we link our nomination please, just to make sure I get the right one? Thank you.

Funny you should say that. A few weeks ago I decided to try and grow a tomato plant in my kitchen (everything I've tried to plant in my flat so far has died or refused to grow). I checked on my seed this morning and it looks like it has started germinating, putting out a little root! It made me very happy :D

Tim | 4 comments My nomination is "The Wisdom of Sollitude - A Zen Retreat in the Woods", by Jane Dobisz. I'm currently doing research and planning for a retreat in the woods of Vermont; probably this summer. If anybody, here has an experience to share regarding this topic; feel free. I'm open to any input I can get. Thanks!

Tim

I hope it goes well.

Larry (dralas) | 29 comments Hi Tim

I have had some wonderful solitary retreats at Karme Choling in Vermont. They do large programs as well but have 7 cabins in the woods. They have a full time retreat support person so that even though you are completely on your own there is help if you need it.

You can check them out at
http://www.karmecholing.org/index.php

There are photos and descriptions of the different cabins.

Have a great retreat
Larry

Larry (dralas) | 29 comments Brilliant Moon is the Autobiography of one of the most significant masters of Tibetan Buddhism.

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35...

He takes us on his journey with him from his earliest years in Tibet, his training, and having to leave Tibet and then travel throughout the world spreading the dharma. Very inspiring.
