Patrice, I'm still on Part 1, so I can't comment much. I've been hooked on the book Birds Without Wings that I'm loving.. but promise to get back to Tolstoy during next days.
I do remember that scene on the tent of first time I read it two years ago. Lovely scene. I'll comment more when I get to it.

It's really impressive that story of your father. You want to hear something funny? I will be reading "All quiet on the western front" next month for another reading group in german.

yeah Patrice, I study German and joined a local reading group on it. The idea is to read german classics or contemporary (in original or translation, depends of level) and practice speaking in German about them.

Hi Patrice! I'm going to close this post for now. This is be opened once again in at the next reading. This looks disorderly now and the discussion leader is missing and I can't join here because I'll be following Lolita. I hope you'll join when we open this again.
