Sandra (sleo) | 1059 comments I just ordered it and it's free delivery and is giving a 10/27 release date! I'm trusting they'll send me the UK one as the US one has been delayed until January of 2012! Which really really sucks because it's after Christmas.

Amelia (narknon) | 523 comments Where did you preorder it? I haven't seen a date show up on Amazon yet? (But then I haven't looked this morning either.)

Sandra (sleo) | 1059 comments At the Book Depository.com. There's free shipping world wide. Sorry I shouldve said!

Amelia (narknon) | 523 comments Have to look into that. I've never actually been to that web site. Do you know why the delay for the publication in the US?

Amelia (narknon) | 523 comments Hmm, they have paperback and hardback editions. What to choose. I probably should get the paperback to go with the rest of my books.

Janny, is this book going to have the same look as the newer styles like this: Stormed Fortress (Wars of Light & Shadow #8; Arc 3 - Alliance of Light, #5) by Janny Wurts or a full picture like your earlier works like this Peril's Gate (Wars of Light & Shadow #6; Arc 3 - Alliance of Light, #3) by Janny Wurts ?

Amelia - it will be the graphic style of the other, newer releases, not the portrait style - and the paperback release is likely a trade paperback, this round. I don't know yet when they plan the mass market.

It could be I will one day paint the portrait style image so collectors of the US editions can make their hardbacks match - I'd do it (like a jacket) as a print to wrap the books.

Amelia (narknon) | 523 comments Hey thanks Janny for answering my question. All of my others are MMP, but I do like trade paperbacks better.

That would be neat if you did the artwork sometime, even though that might mean that I'd have to scrounge up some hardbacks to go with the covers. Your artwork really is beautiful. Since I'm late reading your work, I have the covers with the graphic style.

Sandra (sleo) | 1059 comments I ordered the HC as I have all the others in that format. I'll skip the paperback and wait for the ebook.

Certainly, that could be done - it's just a photoshop job. Though far as I know, the old hardbacks are not that hard to find, yet.

Amelia (narknon) | 523 comments Well then, maybe I should get them sooner rather than later. I could always give my current one to someone who would enjoy your series too.

Sandra (sleo) | 1059 comments The first chapter is posted at Paravia.com if you're dying to read the new book!

Bill (kernos) | 59 comments Shall we contest who can get it and review it 1st :-?

But then, there are always those who get advanced copies and get a review up befor the release date.

Initiate's Trial already has 5 ratings. No reviews yet.

Jon (jonmoss) I pre-ordered mine a couple of weeks ago. As soon as I have it in my hands, I may need intravenous feeding because I won't eat or sleep until I finish it. :)

John | 139 comments Pre-ordering complete--glad this thread got bumped (and that I finally got back to checking Goodreads threads, which I haven't been doing lately). Of course I'm looking forward to this!

Amelia (narknon) | 523 comments Ok, I gave up on Amazon ever showing a date for this. I just ordered it from BookDepository.

Sandra (sleo) | 1059 comments Well they're showing the hardcover for Oct. 27, but who knows? But it appears Amazon is the only one with an eversion available at this time. Pooh. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Kobo or BN or someone to have it in epub version later on. That way I don't have to mess up my pretty hardcover actually reading it! :)

Amelia (narknon) | 523 comments I didn't see that. Maybe I was always looking at the PB.

Me too! Can't wait!

Aussie500 | 36 comments The Book Depository must of ran out of the hardback version after all those pre-orders. I ordered one on the 9th Nov and they only shipped it yesterday, they must have needed to get new stock in.
