I love sagas. My fave is:

De Eeuw van Mijn Vader

The Century of my Father.

The life of a regular Dutch man and surviving WW2.

But my all time fave saga is:

The Discovery of Heaven

I read it in Dutch. One of those "sweep across Europe" novels with massive metanarrative depth.
