Yeah. That's it. :P Pretty boring huh.
- Lunch at uni- 8 pages worth of printing at uni
- Dinner tonight
- $70 worth of petrol (stupid petrol prices)
Its $6.40 for all national ones and you can put up to 500gr in them OR its $10 something and you can put up to 3kg in themwell that's the ones I use
its $6.40 each but you can buy a pack of 10 and i think its SLIGHTLY cheaper (like comes to $57 or something)and yep you just address and post no need to go to the post office each time (the ones I am talking about are like plastic bags in a sense... so i also buy bubble wrap and wrap the books so they aren't attacked but you can buy that on the cheap... or use other stuff)
I looked online for prepaid intl satchels. They're REALLY expensive though, I think. Please, if someone has bought one, provide prices.Kylie, I'm doing exactly the same thing now. But I'm cheaping out on the bubble wrap right now - hope your books are all in okay condition! Hahaha.
books were AWESOME Cass! Thank you soooo much! Once i finish this essay from HELL I plan to just read read read
So I got $60 to spend at Dymock’s, $150 to spend at Myer, $80 to spend at Collin’s Booksellers and $50 at JB Hi-Fi. Plus $455 in cash will half will be going to my lesson and driving test on friday.I’m going to need some help deciding what to buy :p
Wow, are all those gift vouchers for a birthday? I'd keep some of them so I can get a few books each month. I'd give you some recs off your shelf but your profile is set to private :S
mmmm so many bookshop vouchers...Youc an buy a whole lote of books with that much money! Too bad they don't have book depo vouchers :/
My fam refuses to buy me books/book vouchers after seeing my huge bookshelf, lol. They simply don't understand that new awesome books are being released every month that I would buy :S
I didn't ask my family for books for my birthday, but I ended up buying the ones that have been appearing in my IMMs with the money I got for my birthday so it works out the same. :PBraiden, you can buy a whole lot of books! O_O Oh and how I wish there were TBD vouchers, but then again, any book voucher is a good voucher.
So. Many. Vouchers. Wow!For my birthday a few months ago, I told my family books or book vouchers only. I gave my mum a list of links to books on TBD, and my dad got me a $50 Dymocks voucher (hello Study series box set!).
Haha! Yeah I had my party lastnight and that was the “money” related gifts I got. I didn’t ask fir them but I suppose people just know I read so they go with the obvious. Keep watch out for some goodies in the next couple of weeks :D
My family don't get books or book vouchers for me either :P Sometimes an uncle or aunt would get me a Big W vouchers ( i know right...) which I spend on the book section anyway :P I get a lot of clothes for my birthday or accsessories or electronic :)
Curious, Braiden, what books do boys read?
I read a wide variety...but I’m starting to sway more towards my dystopian, historical and action for books for some reason. Going to begin the Henderson’s Boys and Cherubs series by Robert Muchamore soon.
Do you read much adult scifi/fantasy Braiden? If so, you should definitely check out Patrick Rothfuss' 'Kingkiller Chronicles'. I never get tired of plugging this series, they're so good!! The first one is 'The Name of The Wind'. (:
Thanks for the rec Sas!And contemporary romance: I dont think it's my thing to just read about "love", something everyone (not me yet and I cann see now why I'm saying this) experiences. I have read Perfect Chemistry and loved Stolen (if you can call that a romance).
I guess it just depends how the romance comes about and the psychological attributes, rather than the physical looks of the characters.
Getting back to purchases, I've gone nuts and ordered some more books. They were all SO cheap.
I think just today, I bought Instructions for a Broken Heart by Kim Culbertson, The Eternal Ones (I smell a giveaway ~ really liked this book and so I bought a copy from Basement Books - limited free shipping!) by Kirsten Miller and The Heist Society by Ally Carter (altogether they'd have been about $10). And for uni, I just bought a ticket and some pie. I like pie. :) (Y)
Haha, I bought Heist Society and The Eternal Ones from Basement Books a while ago! Only I was in store... They have awesome stuff. :)I bought Gone by Michael Grant with a gift voucher... Oh, and some vegetarian Pad Thai. And antibiotics, 'cause I'm sick. :S
Oh hehe. Sas I'm usually too tired to go in BB when I pass by to go home. How are their conditions anyway? And how much did they cost together, if you remember? (they were both $1.20 online)Aww hope you get better Sas! It's the season again! Hooray. And yum, pad thai! Never knew you were a vegetarian. I'd consider going vegetarian, but I love meat too much. XD
Sometimes I stop by if I finish uni early... If I can be bothered. I know what you mean, it's such a trek to get there. :/What do you mean by conditions?
I think I paid a bit more for TEO (it was around $4) and I think HS was $2... I bought them ages ago though, so perhaps the prices went down?
Aw thank you! Yeah, it seems like everyone's sick right now, it must be autumn's doing. I miss summer and warmth!
Haha, I'm not a vegetarian - I've considered it, but I'm still trying to work out what I'd eat (I'm pretty fussy when it comes to green things!) I just really like vegetarian pad Thai - I love the tofu. :)
Don't worry, I got the books in the mail today. Which is really quick. So, what did you buy today? The perks of staying at home is that you don't have to spend any money. :) I'm going to be good and NOT buy any more books this month haha.
I'm checking out Basement Books now... a secondhand bookshop with a wide selection of YA would be perfect for me :DOh and I recently bought a Maccas meal.

what is this Basement Books? Is it an online store??
Just had a look at Basement Books, and I love it! I'll definitely be taking advantage of the temporary free shipping. And last thing I bought... a chocolate croissant from a French bakery in the city. The guy who served me was actually FRENCH! *swoon*
Um I bought a Mars bar and a friend's brithday present recently! Cass, where did you buy Instructions to a Broken Heart?
just found Basement Books, Kylie!http://www.basementbooks.com.au/basem...
AWESOME prices! Now, I just need some money :sigh:
Um has anyone bought anything from Basement Books? It says books have black amrker pen on bottom and are a little worn from travel but heck, are they playing it down what????:/
well at Borders we mark the bottom of the books with 1 line of texta across the bottom pages so that we know it is non returnable and to be discounted so im assuming its the same
i think they are like those books you see in the newsagency - $5.95 each. Line of black marker pen on the bottom....can't be returned to publisher etc. The Remaindered Bin, I think it used to be called.
