Sibel Hodge | 7 comments Thanks, Pat! We need a bit of humor in our lives to stop us going completely nutso! :)

Laurel Osterkamp | 1 comments Congratulations! That's wonderful. I'm very impressed with your sales, and I'm hoping you can offer me some advice. I have two full-length novels out. Both have gotten good reviews by established places and Following My Toes won an Indie Excellence Award. They're priced cheaply and I think the covers look good. I write a blog and post on GoodReads whenever I can. I've given out review copies and tried to connect with people. Yet my sales aren't nearly what I want them to be. Is there something else I ought to be doing? Following My Toes by Laurel Osterkamp Starring in the Movie of My Life by Laurel Osterkamp Laurel Osterkamp

Sibel Hodge | 7 comments Hi Laurel, thanks!

It seems like you're doing all the right things! Congrats on the Indie Excellence Award, btw, that's fab. Following My Toes sounds good and I just bought it! :)

Another thing to look at would be trying to get it in the top 100 genre categories on Amazon. If you have part of a genre that's a little unusual, it can work in your favour. These are the categories you pick when you upload to KDP. You used to be able to have 5 but now you can only have 2 :( If it gets listed on them, it gets on more recommendations and lists from Amazon, which is good advertising.

Also, try and get featured on websites like Pixel of Ink, Frugal Ereader, Daily Cheap Reads. Other than that, I think you're doing everything you can! Wishing you loads of luck :)

Heather Cashman I just published and am glad to have comradeship, even if it is just in the reading of forums like this one. It makes me feel better. I don't want my writing to be about numbers and sales, but looking at how many books I've sold is so tempting. It makes me anxious, though. How do I stop thinking about sales and just love writing like I used to?
