Saturday is the day I get to take books and hang out at the coffee shop in downtown Boise. Yipee! Anyone else freeing books today?

I'm hoarding them for a release on the 21st for Bookcrossing's 10th Birthday. (Although I did find a great place for future releases on my walk today.)

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 145 comments I am for sure releasing some today in San Diego!

Cheryl (cherylllr) Was it a special day, and I missed it? Or maybe I didn't - I release books so often I don't pay a lot of attention.

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 145 comments Nothing special, but Saturday seems to be the first day I ever get a chance to spend some time BCing.

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 145 comments I freed several books today. Got a wild release catch last weekend, very exciting. I left a Heinlein book just outside the door to Best Buy with one of those "Free Book" stickies on it.

Saturday seems to be my best day- my son left some books at the coffee shop, then sat with his hot chocolate clutched in his fist, staring at them until someone approached! I felt like we were taping one of those wildlife shows, where the shy cheetah cubs come out of the brush and check out the cameraman

Cheryl (cherylllr) Ooh I should do that. Most of my releases go to my OBCZ or the library free exchange rack, but I could see myself dropping some off at the park on some of the tables, and sitting at a different one slyly watching...

I took five books out of the box, registered them and released them on my jogging round.

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 145 comments I released 5 books yesterday in San Diego. Several sci-fi (for my release challenge this week) and a sudoku book. I left the sudoku book perched on the ledge above the drop slot at a video rental store, so hopefully someone snagged it!

Cheryl (cherylllr) That's an interesting place Judy!

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 145 comments I got a wild catch the other day, for a book I left in my OBCZ basket. Another BCer picked it up, but not one I have ever met!

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 145 comments This week I'm releasing books with pictures of children on them, so lots of kids' books are going out. Good release spots are in front of pet shops :)

Cheryl (cherylllr) That does sound like a good place.

DubaiReader | 20 comments How sucessful are you at getting feedback for your dropped books?

Cheryl (cherylllr) Me - not very. 1% maybe. If that. And the thing is, I do most of my releases to a safe place. My OBCZ is indoors, serves a luxury item (fruit smoothies), has Wi-Fi, and is in a good neighborhood. So I know the owners aren't throwing books away, and I strongly suspect most of the clients are online. So, I just < sigh > and carry on. :)

Kaz (imuzak12) | 6 comments Hello! I did wild-release on the last two weekends but have no journal entry for them... yet. I do hope that those books are found, and the founder simply preferred not to make a journal entry. I am planning to do another wild-release (4 books) on this coming weekend to celebrate BC B-day. If you are near or within Corpus Christi, Texas, it is more than welcome to keep your eyes on my bookshelf or twitter:)
