My book is going pretty good right now it's starting to go in detail with their assignments and tasks they had to do in the war. Right now they are taking shelter in an abandoned church in Sicily and they are trying to help the almost starving kids and families in the town surrounding them. Yes it is my reading level, it has it's Mature moments when it gets descriptive to what they see but overall it's my reading level. I am excited to read more because the book it starting to become more interesting. :D
Hey guys,Its me again. The purpose I chose Lord of the Flies is because Mr. Costello chose it. It seems that the author is writing this book for a intellectual group of readers. No qoutes come to mind. It is a thought provoking book that seems to have a deeper meaning then as of this point I can decode, But it has kept me reading my mind on the book.
RED
The purpose of the book I am reading is to follow a girl on her drug expeirance through a journal. The author was the girl who wrote the journal. It lends itself to teenage people more than adults because the girl writing is a teenager. An impostant quote is, "For two days no I've been trying to convince myself that using LSD makes me a "dope addict" and all the other low class, unclean, dispicable things I've heard about kids LSD." This is a good book, it is at my reading level and I want to read more.
Hey guys,Its me again. The purpose I chose HEAT is because Im not a big fan of reading so I chose a book that I might enjoy. I think the author wrote this book because it shows how a young boy that has nothing to work with, still has a chance to live a good life. This moral is very inspiratonal to kids that are poor and kids that dont really have anything special. I think the way its wittnen is a big deal because it shows the boys emotions throughout the book. It is a really good book and I am excited to see what happens next.
Hello peers,I like my book so far. I am not sure what the purpose of writing this book was, but I think the author just wrote it to entertain people and make money. I think the way it is written makes it more appealing to a teenager rather than an elderely man or something like that. At one point the main character Stan says "my mom and dad are divorced." This summarizes the book pretty well because this book would be totally different if Stan had a normal family. This book is pretty easy to read and I have already read 6 sections so it is going pretty well and i'm looking forward to reading more. go umass.
The book Trance is about a teenage girl named Ashlyn Greenfield who is coping with the death of her mother to a car accident. It has only been about 8 weeks since the accident, and her sister left the house to get away from everything and her dad is barley speaking. Asholyn starts having even more trances then before the accindent. These trances that Ashlyn is having are these visions about upcoming events that involves something bad. I think this author chose to write a book like Trance because she wanted to appel to teenage girls who can look up to Ashlyn and showing that you can gewt through anything. the quote I chose from this book is from her bestfriend Michelle who says " maybe your trying to do too much to soon." I feel this is important because Michelle is such an amazing friend to Ashlyn through this time of need and has been there every step of the way. So far this book is going great and I really like it. This is an easy book to just sit down and read.
The book Eragon tells the story of Eragon, a farm boy who lives on outskirts of Carvahall, a insignificant village in the country of Alagaesia. While hunting in the Spine, a moutain range the covers the east cost of Alagaesia, he finds a large blue stone. Soon he finds out that the stone is actualy a Dragon egg. He then realizes that he is destened to join the ranks of the legendary Dragon Riders. He goes to his villages story teller, Brom, to learn as much as he can about dragons. When two agents of the unrightful king Galbatorix, who ended the rain of the Riders, come to Carvahall looking for the egg. They destroy Eragons house and kill his uncle who his mother left him will. Ergan and Saphira, his dragon, vow the track down the Ra'zac, the agents of the king, and take reveng for kill his uncle. The story teller, Brom, tages along, who has a mistareious past and is keeping meany secrets.
Carter Finally Gets it is about a 14 year old freshman named Will Carter who wants to have sex but has hard time with girls due to his ADD and stuttering when he talks to a girl he likes. When he finally gets a girlfriend he screws it up by telling the football team about his date with her at the movies. She gets even more pissed because he ask's another girl to homecoming after telling her he loves hers and they break up. My reaction to it so far is that it has a lot more sexuality in it then even Catcher in The Rye but it's a good book so far. The authors intent of writing this book was to help kids in highschool realize there not alone and it gives guys advice on talking to girls. Anybody who likes books that are about highschool and sexuality and fiction fans will like this book. One quote that keeps coming up in the book is "come on focus Carter" its important because it shows he struggles with ADD 24/7, at home, at school, on dates etc. Im on page 127 i'm almost half done with the book, its going good and yes it's at my reading level. Yes i'm inspired to read more the book keeps getting better and better and more intense which makes me not want to put the book down.
The purpose of the book was to write a story, together with a teenager that previously read his books. Author came up with an idea to write a book with alternating voices, together with Ross, who was very interested in writing. The way the book is written is very interesting and cool. I think that the style will attract a lot of attention, because it isn't used a lot in modern literature. "Kevin, let me tell you something about myself. I'm a police officer just like the one who arrested you. Just like your father was. Judge Kelly asked me to look into your case because he had a lot of respect your father. I did, too." This quote is important because it shows some of the main plot, but it also shows some aspects of Kevin's personality. So far I like this book and I'm excited to read more of it to see what will happen next.
This book so far is fantastic. Frank McCourt has an extraordinary way of writing. He has so far told of his first couple of years in the classroom. The purpose of this book is that McCourt is telling us the story of his thirty year teaching career; and how he won over the hearts and minds of his students. His intent is for readers to understand the hardships of teaching, but also the accomplishments that come with it. He tells his story with wit and humor. Anyone and everyone can fall in love with this book. "Teacher Man" isn’t necessarily meant for a certain type of reader, many different people will be drawn to this book. When I was just beginning this book I was a bit afraid, that because I didn’t read his first two books, I would have no idea what was going on; but not to fear. McCourt goes back and without losing his stride tells of his past. He expertly weaves into this memoir the stories that he tells his classes. It feels as if I’m in the front row of his classroom, listening to his stories of Ireland. McCourt tells of how the teenagers can read his every move. They know the best tactics for getting him of the topic of grammar and onto topics that interest them much more. McCourt has just told of his first teaching break through, after four years of teaching he finally feels that maybe he’s getting it. McCourt tells of how he’s trying to teach a bunch of rowdy teenagers, grammar, “The study of the way of language.” This is the break through that McCourt has. “Something was beginning to happen. They were beginning to understand what grammar was. If I kept at it I might understand it myself.” This quote is important because McCourt finally sees the light at the end of the tunnel; he knows that he is getting through to these kids. I am very excited to keep reading this book; I know that it will only get better and better. This book is just perfect for me. I become more inspired every time I pick up this book.
"A Mango Shaped Space" is a very good book so far. The book is about a thirteen year old girl named Mia who finds out that she has synesthesia, which is when sounds, numbers, and letters all have a different color, and you see the colors whenever you hear a sound or see a letter or number. She tells us how she has kept this a secret for her whole life because she thinks something is wrong with her because she's never meet anyone else that sees colors like she does. I think the purpose of this book is to introduce a whole new world to the reader about people with synesthesia. I have never heard of synesthesia before so reading this book is opening my eyes to how different every one sees the world, like for instances how Mia sees the world. I think the author wrote this book intending for a reader to open there eyes and read this book not as a diary of a thirteen year old girl but as a story of a girl and how she over came obstacles at a very young age. This book is not intended for any inparticular reader, because I’m very picky about choosing books and I love this book so far. A quote that stuck out to me so far is “Mango is asleep on my bed, wheezing his mango wheeze contentedly" Mia writes. This quote to me is important because Mia's cat Mango is a grayish colored cat but she named him mango because of the color his wheezes make, which says that she doesn't try to ignore the colors but im braces them and uses them to make life alot easier for her. I’m enjoying this book a lot so far, I think I like it because I like first person prospective books a lot and even though it's not quite at my reading level I still find it sometimes hard to understand because I’m reading into the mind of someone else. I’m very excited to read more because once you are hooked in the beginning you are there for the whole ride.
The Purpose of this book (Bridge to Terebithia) is to write a story about conflicts of 2 teenagers lives in which they can escape their daily life problems and go to a kingdom where they are the kings/queens. The author came up with this idea to write about a fantasy that every teenager will read. Teenagers like reading books in which they see another character with the same problems. This book also has a unique style which other teenagers will love. The quote "it could be a magic country like Narnia, and the only way you can get in is by swinging across on this rope" is a important quote. I think this an important quote because this is when all of the fantasy adventure starts. I am loving this book right now. In fact, i think this will be my favorite book. This book is definitely my reading level or lower. I am so excited to read more.
I am loving my book right now. It's the rising action point in the story in which the 2 main characters (Jess and Leslie) are starting their adventure to Terebithia. When Jess firstly met Leslie, he didn't like her but as time went on, she became his only friend. Now, they are starting their adventure of their life time. I also love the kind of person Jess is, athletic, kind, QUIET. I think Leslie is awesome person too. She is so athletic, which is hard to see in a girl and she is adventurous. I hope their adventure turns out good.

Sorry I'm late I was sick and I forgot. My book, "Mockingjay," is about a 17 year old girl, Katniss Everdeen, who survived two free-for-all contests to the death against all odds, held by the Capitol. After surviving the first of these Games, by saving the boy from her District as well as herself by threatening to kill them both if they didn't allow two victors of the games, she became a symbol of rebellion against the Capitol for the 13 districts. After surviving her second Games thanks to a break in at the arena staged by the rebels, she has to continue her role as the Mockingjay, the face of the rebellion, to inspire the people of the Districts to overthrow the powerful capitol. Katniss is a generally stoic and unfriendly person, so looking good and inspiring on camera is a difficult task. They realize that the only way she can truly inspire people is with quotes thought of on the spot, so they take her to the aftermath of a battle. After leaving the makeshift hospital, the hospital is bombed, and after it is cleared she says the quote "If we burn, you burn with us." This is to show that the Districts aren't as weak as the Capitol thinks, and are in fact the Capitol's lifeblood; they provide food, electronics, energy, transportation, etc. The purpose of this book is to show that adversities can be overcome with the help of great leaders, hard work, and staying positive against all odds.
